Jehoram was just as wicked a king as his father Ahab. He blamed God for their seize conditions, but didn’t consider His own need to repent. He blamed Elisha for the seige conditions.
It was a gruesome fulfillment of God’s prophecy of what would happen if Israel forsook the Lord. Deut 28:52-57

Why wait for the Lord? Deliverance is at the door!
The king’s officer mocked God opening the windows of heaven, but always provides.
The Lord sent His army to drive off the Syrians.
The Lord used unlikely heroes to announce His victory! The kings officer saw the prophecy fulfilled, but didn’t partake in the blessing.

Later, the Shunamite woman comes in just as Gehazi is telling the story of how her son was raised to life. Her land was then restored.
God’s timing is “never late, but seldom early” it arrives RIGHT ON TIME!
One of the hallmark signatures of God in human events is His perfect timing. He created time, and God loves to display His providence and omnipotence by using time as His servant to precisely fulfill prophecy.
Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
