Matthew 21:28 through Matthew 21:32 (NIV)

28What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, Son, go and work today in the vineyard.

29 I will not, he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.

30AThen the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, I will, sir, but he did not go.

31AWhich of the two did what his father wanted?

The first, they answered. Jesus said to them, I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. 32For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.

1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV)

58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Isaiah 55:6 - 7 (NIV)

6        Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.

7        Let the wicked forsake his way   and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

Ezekiel 33:31 through Ezekiel 33:32 (NIV)

31My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to listen to your words, but they do not put them into practice. With their mouths they express devotion, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain. 32Indeed, to them you are nothing more than one who sings love songs with a beautiful voice and plays an instrument well, for they hear your words but do not put them into practice.
