Let Jesus Have It All

-PRAYER & ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS-
1 Peter 5:5–7 NKJV
5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Jesus’ Care For Us Are Greater Than Our Cares

Introduction

Just about everyone in here today has a care or cares that you’re dealing with. It may be something you’ve been dealing with for a long time.
Well, I got some good news for you! Jesus cares for you! His care for us is much greater than what we’re dealing with.

1-Be Submissive

In our text we see an instruction to us; be submissive to the elders.
Young people as adults used to be, can be resistant to authority. Some of us adults still have a problem with authority, especially if takes us out of comfort zone.
As long as leaders in the church are exercising godly and biblical authority, the people in the body of Christ have to submit to the authority of whomever God has ordained as a leader.
Please understand God resist’s the proud, but gives grace to the humble. This passage is found in Proverbs 3:34 and James 4:6.
Submit to each other...
There are times when I am so tired and juggling a ton of things to do. But I know the Lord expects me to be available to Him and go to people in need. Many times this takes me out of my comfort zone, but I know I must be about my Father’s business.

2-Humble Yourselves

I’ve seen a lot of Christians struggle with the virtue of being humble because of the pride that’s in them.
I’ve seen Christians exalt their education, social status. economical status, and their titles, lifting themselves up with pride.
Pride is a deep sin that appears to be hidden away in the heart but God sees it, and He will resist the actions of the proud.
Please let us not forget that Satan was thrown out of heaven because of his pride. When we’re puffed up with pride we are more like the devil than we are like Jesus.
God gives grace to the humble. I don’t know about you all but I need the grace of God on my life.
When I’m weak, His grace makes me strong.
His grace covers me in my unintentional wrongs.
His grace is sufficient for me.
Don’t be stiff-necked, stubborn, and puffed up with pride. You’re only cheating yourselves.
Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God. You might as well because all things and everybody is under His authority.
God is mighty to punish the unrighteous and defend the righteous.
The Lord will exalt you, there’s no need to exalt yourselves.

3-Let Jesus Have It

There is so much in this world that will cause anxiety and stress us out.
But look at what our text says! “Casting all your care upon Him, because He cares for you.”
Let Jesus have your problems!
I don’t know if this was meant to be a play on words, but I can’t help but to notices the scriptures use the words care and cares. Our care, Jesus cares. The last english class I had taught me that care is singular and cares is plural (more than one).
So Jesus’ care is more powerful than our cares!!!

Conclusion

I know you have loved ones who are sick - Let Jesus have it.
You might have financial issues - let Jesus have it.
You might have problems with people in your home, on your job and even in the body of Christ - let Jesus have it.
You don’t have to already together because He will take you as you are. He did if for prostitutes, liars, sick people, He accepted all these people in the bible when they humbled themselves.
Everyone repeat after me; “LORD - I’M TIRED OF TRYING - TO DO THIS ON MY OWN - I’M TIRED OF CRYING - I WANT TO PRAISE YOU - I’VE LET GO OF MY PRIDE - AND I HUMBLE MYSELF - UNDER YOUR MIGHTY HAD - LORD DO IT FOR ME - RIGHT NOW!!!
