MANIFEST'O, noun [Latin manifestus, manifest.] A public declaration, usually of a prince or sovereign, showing his intentions, or proclaiming his opinions and motives; as a manifesto declaring the purpose of a prince to begin war, and explaining his motives. [Manifesto only is now used.]
The Beatitudes are a radical manifesto of a kingdom way of life because Jesus reveals who is in and who is not.

The Message of the Sermon on the Mount (Introduction: What Is This Sermon? (Matthew 5:1, 2))
The Sermon on the Mount is probably the best-known part of the teaching of Jesus, though arguably it is the least understood, and certainly it is the least obeyed. It is the nearest thing to a manifesto that he ever uttered, for it is his own description of what he wanted his followers to be and to do
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Light even though it passes through pollution, is not polluted.

10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.
