Markers Indicating the End
weather report-readiness seek first kingdom
State of affairs around us
1. Pandemic that was run as a trial run
2. Global economy on the cusp of failure
3. Technological advances in which one person or group of people can dominate the world with a touch of a button
State of Affairs in the church
1. Church body that no longer knows its identity
2. Ecumenical movement to unify all faiths as a world religion
3. Rise in Spiritual, and Biblical illiteracy.
4. Acceptance of teaching that is contrary to the word of God.
116 times the world or the apocalyptic end of the world has been “predicted” In the 20th and 21st century alone each of the 116 times its been wrong.
There are three predictions that remain one of which speaks of the rapture… It is no wonder the people are leery of the next end times predictions
Studying scripture we are made aware that no one knows the day or the hour. But we can know the season.
The world around knows it, scientist aware, the church is being awakened to it...
-The World Food Program estimates famine 345 million people (double the number from 2020)
-Pandemic of 2020 along with “natural disasters” and increase
- The World Doomsday Clock that is operated by Atomic Scientist on Jan 24 moved the clock to 90secs from midnight, one of the largest moves in the history of the clock by 10 secs in one year… what they’re saying is we are literally minutes from total annihilation.
The church needs to be not just aware of the approaching end but also the work ahead for us…
It is my assertion that we are the last generation.

The groanings of the world indicate we are the last generation.

Matthew 24:29–31 ESV
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Jesus is asked 3 questions regarding the end
v.3 When will these things happen?
the temple destruction; answered then occured
v.3 What are the signs of your return?
v.29-30 various signs
the earth will mourn
v. 3 When is the end of the age?
aionos = end of this time… end of the world
Jesus answers when the end will be… and through this we can deduce the season and the markings of the last generation.
His return according to scripture does not occur until “Tribulation of those days”
The rapture according to scripture does not occur until “Tribulation of those days”; and “He sends out His angels to gather the ones set apart.”
When scripture interprets scripture we are told as a people … Is 28:8 Precept upon precept… weaned from milk
We are no longer in the last hour we are in the final seconds
We are not waiting for another generation we are the last generation
The reason why some are now hearing the trumpet commit is that as the Last Generation we are being awakened to the work ahead… a work that has been abandoned by those before us...
for those who “too young” to have a calling and for those who have been told “you’re too old and your time has passed” WE ARE THE LAST GENERATION

Revealed in the Fig Tree Parable

Matthew 24:32–34 ESV
“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
From this verse we are able to see we can know the season (Eschatology)
v.34 speaks about a generation that will not pass
not the disciples of this time but the future generation related to the Fig Tree

Israel is the Fig Tree

Three trees related to Israel
The Vine
The Olive Tree (discuss later)
The Fig Tree
Luke 13:6–9 ESV
And he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Look, for three years now I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down. Why should it use up the ground?’ And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on manure. Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’ ”
Speaks of self and relationship with Israel
desire for them to yield fruit
Jesus 3.5 year ministry… wait until the end to harvest or cut down
grace to want to continue tending to the end
The day before His crucifixion He is walking by a fig tree Matt 21:18 longing to see fruit and only sees leaves… commands it to dry up.
The relevance here is that it tells us of what the last generation is:

Clues About Who the Last Generation Is

Drying up of the Fig Tree

70 AD Roman Empire burns the temple to the ground the Jewish state collapsed
remained dormant through 2 major world wars

Blossoming of the Fig Tree

Almost 2000 years of non existence
May 14 1948 League of Nations recognizes once more the sovereign nation of Israel
Is 66 references the resurrection of the nation in one day… we see it occur here
This is the generation that cannot pass before the return of the Lord

Defining Generation Length

According to Psalm 90 we are told 80 years…
We do note some who die at an older age
We then identify the generational length to be 80 years
so the Fig Tree is planted 14 May 1948 add 80 years to this time....
2028… though there are some that assert this is the end of the world.... both secular and theologian

Additional Biblical Considerations

Patterns found in scripture
Adam to Abraham 2000 yrs
Abraham to the arrival of Jesus 2000 yrs
Jesus to the return of Christ 2000 yrs
this is according to certain theological measures
Jewish Calendar based on a Lunar cycle (354,355,356) Jewish is premised on 360 days
Gregorian Calendar based on a solar cycle of 365 days.
Includes 33 yrs of Christ
Officially according to the our modern calendar 2023
According to the Jewish Calendar when we subtract the 33 years of Christ we are 1989-1990
given the variances
If the pattern holds 89-90 to 2000 we are about 10-11 years from what could be the season of the end

Last Generation Implications

This is the generation that is being awakened to the work of preparing the way for the return of the Lord
There are many who today are looking to the sky ready to rip out of here
Jeremiah 29:5–6 ESV
Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their produce. Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons, and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there, and do not decrease.
The end of the exile comes with work
If we consider the 2000 year cycle
10-11 years before the return of Christ
7 of those years are the Tribulation period spoken in Matt 24:30-31
We are 3-4 years from the start of the tribulation period
If we consider the Blossoming of the fig tree..
The tribulation period will begin in within 3-4 years
There is work for the church it is not just about when I am out of here… it is not to heaven with me and to hell with everyone else
I could be completely wrong about the timelines and I would be ok… I prefer the mercy and grace of the Lord for His people
My preoccupation is
Jeremiah 29:7 ESV
But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.
seek the welfare of the city of the exile…
pray to the Lord on its behalf
There welfare is your welfare
Jer 29:10 At the end of the appointed time (70 year period) I will fulfill my promise to you...
There is not another generation coming after us… we are it… there is plenty of work
