MESSAGE TITLE: SO A MAN THINKS

THE WRESTLE IN THE MIND

Proverbs 23:7

For so a man thinks in his heart, so he is.

OUR THOUGHTS Our thoughts are powerful – determine:

· how we see ourselves,

· how we act,

· they impact our relationships and how we interact with one another,

· have a massive impact on how our faith is outworked in our lives.

THE FLESH WILL BE AT WORK: Fatigue, distraction, self-focussed thoughts THE ENEMY WILL BE AT WORK: Trying to bring condemnation & lack of trust in God HS WILL BE AT WORK: Wanting to bring truth, life, purpose, peace, joy & freedom.

Some of the greatest miracles that take place are the ones that happen on the inside.

HS IS THE BRINGER OF TRUTH

John 16:13

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.

John 8:32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

ACC TO SCRIPTURE - BEFORE WE KNEW JESUS OUR MINDS WERE AT WAR WITH GOD

OUR MIND HAS BEEN CORRUPTED BY SIN

WE NEED TO BE CONSTANTLY TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF OUR MINDS

GOD IS INTERESTED IN HEALING OUR MINDS

SOME OF THE GREATEST MIRACLES HAPPEN IN THE MIND AS WE ALLOW HS TO BRING TRUTH TO OUR MINDS AND TO OUR LIVES

STORY – Creature of habit.

A MAN WHO WAS A CREATURE OF HABIT

THE SICK MAN

There was a sick man – 38yrs as a creature of hibit 38yrs of doing the same thing, 38yrs of thinking the same way, 38yrs and the same result READ: John 5:6-20 – On Screen

THEY HAD THIS STRANGE BELIEF

THIS WAS A COMPLETE LIE FROM THE ENEMY THAT HAD HIM BOUND UP IN BONDAGE This lie had impacted his life dramatically, including his thought patterns. 38yrs he had done the same thing / 38yrs he had thought the same way and the same result

IT NEEDED AN ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS TO BREAK HIM OUT OF THE BONDAGE THAT HE WAS IN 8 Jesus told him (out his love, mercy and grace), “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!” 9 Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking.

THIS MAN COULDN’T SEE THE MIRACLE THAT WAS ABOUT THE TAKE PLACE BECAUSE OF HIS MINDSET

IS THERE A LITTLE OF THIS MAN ON THE INSIDE OF ALL OF US?

Years and years of doing the same thing / years of thinking the same way

WHAT MINDSET DOES JESUS NEED TO BREAK THROUGH TODAY? WE NEED HS POWER IN OUR LIVES WE NEED HS TRUTH IN OUR LIVES WE NEED HS LED MINDS HS IS THE BRINGER OF TRUTH THE TRUTH WILL SET US FREE

WHERE IS THE WAR TAKING PLACE? - IN THE MIND

WHAT ARE THESE STRONGHOLDS?

Mental blocks - anything that contradicts what God says Attitudes within us that come against God’s truth

WHAT STRONGHOLD ARE IN YOUR MINDSET? WHAT THOUGHTS DO YOU NEED TO TAKE CAPTIVE TO CHRIST?

YOU ARE FACING A DIFFICULT SITUATION

Verse: You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. (Philippians 4:13)

CRITICAL WORDS ARE RINGING IN YOUR EARS

Verse: I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made… (Psalm 139:14) I am more than a conqueror (Roman 8:37)

YOUR MISTAKES ARE HAUNTING YOU

Verse: My sins are as far from me as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12)

THINGS AREN’T GOING TO CHANGE

Verse: Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me? (Jeremiah 32:27)

WHATEVER ELSE HAS BEEN OCCUPYING YOUR MIND – HS WANTS TO BRING TRUTH & REVELATION TODAY TO SET YOU FREE SO A MAN THINKS, SO HE IS

GOD WANTS TO DO A MIRACLE IN YOUR LIFE BY BRINGING YOU INTO A FRESH REVELATION OF WHO HE IS - HIS POWER

AREA 3 - THE VICTORY HAS ALREADY BEEN WON

JESUS HAS ALREADY WON THE VICTORY ON THE CROSS

Jesus has already paid the price:

· There was a war when he went to the cross

· There was a war when he stormed the gates of hell

· There was a war in that tomb There was a war when he was raised from the dead

He waged war against all powers and principalities and he has been given all authority.

THE BATTLE HAS ALREADY BEEN WON

ISAIAH 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.

2 Tim 1:7 For God did not give me a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind!”

JESUS HAS FINISHED THE WORK

CHANGE OF CIRCUMSTANCES

CHANGE THE NARRATIVE / ALLOW HS TO BRING THE TRUTH

Take every thought captive to Christ.
