God is at work to bring the good news of his love to the nations of the world

Paul is a simply a servant of Jesus Christ that was called by God
He was against the church and doing all that he could to stop it when Christ met him on the road
He was an enemy made an apostle by the grace of God
He was separated unto the gospel of God
He will now live his life to point others to Christ, not to himself
He will be separate from the world and all its religions to show people Christ (vs 5)
He will be separate from his earned righteousness to become a servant of the all-righteous Savior Jesus Christ
This did not start with the church leaders but God has been working in and through man from the beginning to reconcile the world to himself

God had promised
From the beginnings God was making promises to his creation of how he would love us, save us, redeem us, reconcile us to himself
Gen 3:14-15 Promise to send a savior
Gen 12:1-3 Promise to bless the nations through Abraham
This promise continues throughout all the OT and is fulfilled in Christ
Christ was made, Christ was declared
God intervened in history to bring his son into the world to save sinners from all nations
In Christ, all his promises were made true
We know that the account of Jesus is true because of the declaration of his ressurection
All that happened was told before hand that it would happen in that way
As it happened, hundreds of witnesses were there to confirm the accounts
God’s Work through apostles and prophets has brought the work of Christ to us. By faith we allow God’s work to begin in us as well!

We also are called
God is working in your life today just as he has worked in history.
We are beloved of God
He wants to know you, he wants to be a part of your life
All he has done is for you
He made a promise to Eve because he was thinking of you
He called Abraham because he was thinking of you
He appointed David because he was thinking of you
He visited Mary because he was thinking of you
We are called to be saints
God’s work continues in your life even after salvation
Salvation is the start, the foundation
God shows us grace and peace everyday as he leads and directs us
We can do nothing without his work
