Sin - the Fall of Man
Sin spread to all mankind
Romans 5:12 NKJV
12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—
what is sin?
thoughts word and deed apposed to Gods will, His word and ordinances, commands
sin separates us from God
what does sin deserve?
Romans 6:23 NKJV
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
DEATH, everyone is headed for HELL
what does word WAGES mean? payment
ILLUS. Broken window, cost replacement
Judgement
How did God fix the problem of Sin?
He sent Jesus
Who is Jesus?
1. Son of God, Son of Man; fully God and Fully Man
Son of God - divine nature
Son of Man - he understands or weakness, he was tempted in all points as we are, yet with out sin.
2. Jesus is sinless, without sin
Rom 5.8 “8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 NKJV
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Jesus’ Death and burial
full payment for sin, “justified never sinned”
Redeem, redemption; to buy back.
Tetelestai - paid in full
it is finished, sins penalty is paid in full The Sacrifice has satisfied the Judgement of God.
Jesus’ Resurrection

the sting of death - sins penalty
because He lives, we too can live even though we will die
The Cross is the Bridge to God

Is knowing this enough?
Our Response
Romans 10:9–10 NKJV
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
1 John 1:9 NKJV
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We have two choices
1. Put your Faith in Christ Alone
Repentance - to turn away from Sin
Follow Christ everyday
2. Reject the free offer of salvation
the Church: closest thing to heaven on earth, “Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven” we are to represent everything that we should expect in heaven,. that is “godliness”
living a life worthy of the calling, to be pleasing to Christ through Faith and obedience.
will we sin more? Yes. our sin has limits
God grace is limitless, hes love is everlasting, His promises reliable, God is faithful to keep us.
