Ezekiel 38: God's Defense of Israel - 7 Oracles, part 7; ID of Gog - Babylon?

We have a list of Isaiah Jeremiah is Ezekiel Amos and then I put in that Balaam call them as well. Okay. Then over here on the This side here. We are the list of each of the Nations who are the enemies of Israel. So we have them on on the top, we have Moab second, we had Eden third, we have listeria, fourth and Tire in Sedona or group together. Egypt, Damascus and Babylon. Each of them has dealt with in each of the prophets, so we see that each of them are dealt with over here to some degree.

I'm on, we have nothing said about it and Isaiah but Jeremiah mentions that in the chapter 49 verse 1 through 6, that Amor is going to be destroyed and then later restored. That's right here. Ramon is going to be destroyed and later, destroyed, and Ezekiel. We're told that I'm on, is destroyed and taken captive. So, that's what is Ezekiel tells us about. Oman, Amos told us that I'm on, is destroyed and taken captive. So, they're all saying the same thing. Destroyed taken captive. And Jeremiah says, it's going to be a later restoration.

Down in Moab and Isaiah. We see that in chapter 15 through chapter, 16 Moab is described as being ruined and destroyed Verizon. Jeremiah we are told that Moab is destroyed until the last days and then something's going to happen. There is Ezekiel tells us that Moab is conquered and forgotten and then Amos tells us to Moab is destroyed by fire. As it turns out, this is where Balaam come then. And we have that one prophecy and Ezekiel 38. Verse 17 is making reference to the previous prophecy about God, and we put it out that there's only one place that I can possibly be in all of the Old Testament. Bible match the numbers 24 verse 7, where we have Masoretic Hebrew text to taken Garg and they have apparently France changed it to a gag. You're not verse 17 of numbers 24. He says the scepter. Batters the brow of Moab and destroys all the Suns. And the scepter, if this is speaking of God, again, it's speaking the Messiah and not David them is talking about the song to situation where the Lord comes in with a scepter and he destroys all of those enemies of Israel. And then he believes the world to peace but peace comes following the use of the scepter, the iron scepter to destroy the enemy and then he will rule with that iron scepter. So a threat over, everyone's heads but will be able to rule in peace going forward. So that is Moab, okay. And then we have you done. We are told that Isaiah will be a place of Silence. Madsen chapter 21, verse 11, and 12 and chapter 34 verses 5 through 17 when we see the Jeremiah says, Goody time is going to be destroyed and desolate in chapter 49 versus 7222 comes along and he weighs in as well.

And he says that in chapter 25 verses 12 through 14, what are referred you back to the chapter, where he's dealing with all the different nations and the judge he said, etoms stronghold will become a desolation. That is their stronghold will be no, more will be desolated. It will be destroyed in a mess. We read. Chapter 1, verses 11 through 12 Edom will be devoured by fire. Meaning they will be consumed. They will not be any more and then Balaam and his prophecy prophesize and verse 18 that even becomes a possession that is they are conquered is the literal meaning of the Hebrew term there in Mount seir out also. So it doesn't say, melt in your text just says cedar, but it is that mountain and it is the Edomite mountains. So the mountain that is a stronghold is the place is going to be destroyed. So we see something consistent across all these. We see the same thing happens with with philistia.

All of our nation's being destroyed tire and Sedona, they're all going to be destroyed consumed with fire. We don't have anything from Jeremiah here. Then with Egypt, Egypt will fail and fade as a world power, so it will be conquered by Nebuchadnezzar. It will fail and fade as a world power and then Amos doesn't have anything to say about it. So interesting with Egypt, it is not destroyed, it is subjugated. We find that Egypt is actually going to be present in the millennial Kingdom, so it doesn't go away. It's interesting. The, the fate of Egypt, even though it is a place that Israel was birthed out of even though it has been an adversary Many Times of Israel, we find that is going to be present during Millennial Kingdom. So that's interesting. So when people looking at quote, trying to exegete the newspapers today and they're saying look what's happening with Egypt? Looks like they're going to turn against Israel and I say will that wouldn't be a fulfillment of Prophecy then because they aren't going to be turned against Egypt. They will be subjugated MMA will become part of the Messianic Kingdom ruled and rained over by Lord. Jesus Christ, we have Damascus as well. Damascus will be destroyed. Destroyed X. Ezekiel doesn't have anything to say about it, and destroyed and broken. So it's going to be destroyed. And then finally, we have Babylon Isaiah. So this can be destroyed just like, so I do and Gomorrah we know from other text, that there will be a cone of smoke ascending into the Heaven. For What appears to be the entire duration of the millennial Kingdom.

Jeremiah says Babylon will be destroyed devastated, obliterated Zeke you'll says Babylon nothing he doesn't say anything about it. You saying something about it in chapters 38 vs 1 through 39. 29. So those two chapters which is what we're discussing right now and then Amos doesn't have any comment on it. Notice that this really doesn't have anything to say about any of these nations. Either the main reason for that is because they were not the ones who are standing in front of him at the moment that he was trying to be coaxed or paid into bringing a curse against Israel biking, balak and I was balak and his allies so that those are the ones who end up getting the first has brought against them in a MOAB and Eden. so, That is our table of the Prophet. So Babylon, first, in the Messianic Kingdom, and what we have in his Ezekiel is Gog, and Magog in chapters 38 and 39 and the Messianic Kingdom chapters 40 through 48. So, Babylon must be destroyed before the Messianic Kingdom will. We have an Ezekiel is a god, may God being destroyed verses 38 and 39 before the description of the Messianic Kingdom and choppers. 40 through 48. So you can see that there is a line of reasoning here that actually make sense. It's not a complete fabrication, there is some of Liberty there. Some reason to consider this and put our time and it make sure that we understand whether it is a case or not. So let's have an overview of Babylon itself. Babylon's control of Israel. Begin and 605 BC. 8605 BC, when Nebuchadnezzar laid Siege to Jerusalem and he at that time, force, jehoiakim to submit and become his vassal. That means, his representative ruler was basically his footstool so he is a puppet ruler. Now, you may remember, jehoiakim, run in Terror from Jerusalem as an absolute fear, driven individual not relying on God, not turning to go out at all. Never did he call upon your way? Someone is fear-based will probably carry out every single thing I told him to do. So that's a Good way to have a little bit of insight as to what's happening in situations where we have tyranny involved. Fear is the central issue in tyranny tyrannical. Rulers rule based on fear. They create an environment, a political environment, a social environment, where everyone is in a place of fear. They create a structure militarily politically with the people who report to them who are in fear, therefore, they obey. It's not a sharing of the power though. I'm sure that comes in too many minds but the issue is fear subjugation due to fear. My look at our current political environment and say, what's going on, what are they trying to do? Well, it appears that we have an Administration is trying to go through with each executive branch and Implement strategies. He's a fear driven management, we're going to take away this, we're going to take away that we should be a fear of global warming. Therefore, we need to change this system at, and we've already spent a trillion dollars of us money on global warming Panacea is to try to placate our liberal constituents in the European.

People with nose bit too long that are sticking it where it doesn't belong in our business. And as a result, we spent over a trillion dollars which has yielded absolutely nothing nor will it because it's all fake science. So am I at client climate denier. Yes, I'll go on the record that I am based on certain things like physics. Like, like the geothermal reality based on a very scientific and not data. Manipulated conclusions, we can say that it doesn't matter because the Earth has not been in a long, long long, long, long, long time at an equal temperature. We've had our ups and downs, climate Blues, climate changes, it doesn't matter at all. God holds the world together for those people who don't believe in God. They must be underneath and to the political intrusion of this type of fake science so they let fake science rule their lives.

so now we see you then Babylon, was overthrown 70 years later to the day After they took possession of Jerusalem to the Day. 70 years later as per Daniel 5, Isaiah 41, verse 2. 4428 and 45 1 through 7. I am Babylon associated with each of these elements and they had made their gods, the goat, the gold gods of silver, God, the bronze and iron gods in the wood and stone Gods. Kind of corresponds to a hierarchical society in which The Haves and the Have Nots know to drink out of wood and those who drink out of gold, Not every society. By the way, I live in the same hour, the finger of a man's hand appeared and wrote opposite. The lamp stand on the plaster of the wall of the king's Palace and the King saw the part of the hand that wrote. So not only did a hand up here and start writing on the plaster, the wall. But the king saw, it was visible to him for 6, then the king's countenance changed. I love that.

The Kings Compton has changed and his thoughts troubled him so that the joints of his hips were loose and his knees knocked against each other. Meaning he no longer had control over his body, he was in Here, he was in a place of fear where he'd given up. Now, he no longer had the control, the training, the poison excetera, his knees. Now, closed with purple, means you're granted the status of royalty. That means royal family, not like the other Lords, okay? Have gold around his neck as an emblem of rulership and he shall be third ruler in the Kingdom. That's pretty high level. First, and all, the kings wise men came, but they could not read the writing or make known to the king. Its interpretation, there's no idea, then. King, belshazzar was greatly troubled. This Countess was changed in his Lords were astonished. Where's 10? The queen because of the words of the king and his Lord came to the banquet hall in the queen spoke saying oh King live forever, do not let your thoughts trouble, you know or let your countenance change know, the words you'd gone from fearful to Something more drastic. Depressed. Don't know where is 11. There is a man in your kingdom. First 12 in, as much as an excellent Spirit knowledge, understanding interpreting, dreams, solving riddles, and explaining enigmas, were found in this, Daniel, whom the king name, belteshazzar. No, let Daniel be called, and he will give you the interpretation. So she's going harken back a little bit, further uabone by Green here, because you're a new ruler, you having a celebration, but there was a very wise person has been overlooked, and you need to pay attention.

Funny, by the way, how often wives? Have the ability to stuff up with the actual wisdom from God and Whisper it right into your ear. I think that's a God thing. It came to him and Majesty Glory and Honor. First night, I didn't because of the Majesty that he gave them all peoples Nations and languages trembled in fear before him whomever. He wished. He executed whomever he wished. He kept alive whomever, he wished you set up and whomever he wished he put down for 20, but when his heart was lifted up and his Spirit was hardened in Pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne and they took his glory from him verse 21, then he was driven from the sons of men whose heart was made, like the Beast. Famous dwelling was with the wild donkeys, they fed him with grass, like, oxen in his body was wet with the Dew of Heaven. Till he knew that the most high God rules in the Kingdom of man and a points. Over at whomever he chooses verse 22 but his son belshazzar But you his son, belshazzar have not Humboldt to your heart. Although you knew all of this, you knew what your father went through. You knew that he was made like an animal because of his arrogance and his pride and only when he acknowledged the god of heaven and was He restored? And yet, you are repeating the same thing. Where is 23? And you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of Heaven's. They have brought the best holes of his house before you and you and your lord, your wives or concubines have drunk wine from them in a praise, the gods of silver and gold bronze, iron wood and stone, which do not see or hear or know. They're just Fabrications of man's hand. Him The God Who hold your breath in his hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified. Verse 24 in the fingers of the hand were sent from him and this riding was written. So he sets the stage, your arrogance, your lack of acknowledgement of the true and living God, and you're bringing forward these fake. God's led to this writing verse 25. Verse 26. This is the interpretation of each word may God has numbered your kingdom and finished it verse 27, and found wanting verse 28 to race. Your kingdom has been divided and given to the medes and Persians. Verse 29, then belshazzar gave the command and they close. Daniel with purple put a chain of gold around his neck. Made a proclamation concerning him that he should be the third ruler in the Kingdom.

None of which mattered as Daniel. Well knew because we're sturdy that very night, belshazzar King of the Chaldeans was sling. But who buys them you do Persians at Daniel just said they're going to take you and made you did. And why all this was all happening. This party was raging they had routed the river off to a different direction and they just walk down through the river, underneath the unguarded gates into the City, and they took the city without any real resistance whatsoever. The medes and Persians captured, the city overnight and they when they killed belshazzar King of the Chaldeans,

Don King hair. And verse 31 Darius, the mede receive the kingdom being about. They say 62 years old here. So yeah, but still like a significant contrast.

Holding that the general. Okay, got you make sense. So now a couple of verses we have that just kind of add on to this and I wanted to look

So what we see by the way, is the Babylonians who ended up coming in and taking over the Assyrian. Empire know the Assyrian Empire came through and I actually took all of Northern Israel into captivity that one to the Assyrians, okay? Which is north, if we if I had a map in front of us should see that Babylon is a little bit to the South and the Siri is a little bit up to the North and then we go all the way across the Fertile Crescent and down to Israel down to the old land of Canaan. In the northern country, is taken by a Syria. They wage war against the southern country as well. We have King Hezekiah and calls out to the lord. And there we have that interesting story where he invokes the Shekinah Glory. Calls out to the government and the meeting between the wings of the cherubim and he mentions that specifically and he says to you God I call out and ask for your intervention and God does and he delivers them and it gives them more time and delivers Judah. Meaning

Me-TV, Benjamin and Judah. More cows or region of the Southern portion of Israel. So they are delivered but within a couple of generations, he has an evil King who grows up and that's the one who the Babylons? Having taken a serious come in and they actually take Jerusalem. It's a big Target. Lot of wealth are the the wealth of of the temple was renowned throughout the entire world. People came across the world to see the wealth of Solomon there at that Temple and it was still there to that point. So when they sucked it, they walked away with a tremendous, a nation's worth of will, but they pulled out of Jerusalem out of the Kings City and out of the out of the temple itself. So not occurs and then 70 years later, we have the medes and Persians who are just the neighbors who are right there in the same region, just Slightly North. And to the east of Babylon who come in and they join together. They create a coalition who may come through and they concur. When will Boise of 41. Verse 2. Re-read who raised up one from the East, which is where Babylon is, who and righteousness called him to his feet, who gave the nation's before him and made him rule over Kings, who gave them as the dust to his sword as driven stubble to his bow. Wow. So we're talking about the raising up of Babylon, been able to come in and take all the other nations.

Speaking of Cyrus here in Isaiah 41, verse 2. So Cyrus, the king of the medo-persian Empire is the one that were talking about, not Babylon. So Isaiah 41, verse 2 in the 944.

Where is 28? Isaiah 44-28.

Read who says of Cyrus, he is my shepherd. Which is the Lord speaking here. He is my shepherd and he shall perform all my pleasure. Saying to Jerusalem you shall be built into the temple. Your foundation shall be laid, so Cyrus is brought in that the Lord might fulfill his faithful promise to Israel, that he would take them out of the land for X number of years, and then he would restore them. So as they were 490 years in the land, and every seven years, they were supposed to be engaging in the act of a, letting the land lie fallow and for every year that they did not do that, which is 49. / 7 is 7. So we have 490, which is 70. We have seventy years that they are in captivity until the day. He has the deliverer, the Freer of Israel's who comes in to take over Babylon. It becomes a m Persian Empire and he is the one who gives the the edict to go to me and Maya and to

To need the Amaya to go and rebuild Jerusalem and go and rebuild the Temple.

So that is Cyrus who was brought in for That explicit purpose. We are told here in Isaiah 44, verse 28, notice also Isaiah 45. Verses 1 through 7. Isaiah 45 verses 1 through 7. First one bus says the Lord to his anointed to Cyrus. Whose right hand? I have held to subdue Nations before him and loose, the armor of keys to open before him, the double doors, so that the gates will not be set.

I will go before you and make the Crooked places straight and I will break in pieces, the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron and I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden Riches of secret places. That you may know that I've lured to call you by your name and the god of Israel verse 44. Jacob, my servants sake and Israel, my elect, I even called you by your name, I have named you though. You have not known me. I have prophesied of you. Is what he saying here? Verse 50, I am the lord, and there is no other. He says, I am your way. We're studying that right now in our names of God study on Sunday night. There is no other. There is no God beside me. There is no other God I alone. Am God. And my name is your way. And I will gird you though. You have not known what he saying is. I'm using you for my purposes. You may not know me, you may not recognize me but you are being used by me for my purposes. And that look is why you exist, and why you are allowed to be the king here before 6, that you may know from the rising of the sun to its setting. That there is none beside me. I am the Lord, there is no other 47. I form the light and create Darkness. I make peace and create Calamity by the Lord do all these things. By the way, this creates a problem for those people who have just a basic understanding of physics, what he's saying that he creates like, but it's also saying he create, Darkness, I thought darkness is just the opposite of life. For God is saying, is that what we have here is the fabric of creation within the fabric of creation, he has made that portion of the fabric which is light and that portion of the fabric which is dark just as he created time and everything of this fabric is attached to time. Moving forward, cannot be reversed, cannot be changed. All of creation, all created things exist, within the framework of light and dark. And Call a moving forward and that includes the angels as well. They cannot exist in eternity outside of creation. They are constrained to Eternity. They are created as well. He says I make peace and create Calamity. I the Lord do all these things. So here we have a pretty clear set up. Letting us know that the Lord is involved in Babylon. Having been raised up Babylon, having been set down when Babylon was said down, was because he's bringing in another one, who would be freeing and liberating Israel. So that Israel can go back to their land for the next.

Next six hundred years or so. So interesting because not that we have a type here but we certainly do seem to have a picture.

What do they call that when you're reading a book or watching a movie and you can have have a flash of something to come a foreshadow, yet. It's almost like a foreshadowing that we have here. If he was going to come, who is the Messiah? Who's going to put down Babylon? And is going to release Israel, and create the Messianic Kingdom. Let the people go back to their Nation. So, we have a correlation here that we shouldn't ignore. We don't want to make too much of it. It's not typology, but we do certainly seem to have a foreshadowing going on. You want to look at Lawless Babylon here?

Babylon began under Nimrod and Genesis chapter 10 verses 8 through 10. Will read that Genesis 10. Verse 8 cush begat Nimrod, he began to be a mighty one on the Earth. Horse mine. He was a mighty Hunter before the Lord, therefore it is sad, like Nimrod. The mighty Hunter before the Lord verse 10 and the beginning of his kingdom was Babble, a wreck, a card, in the land of shinar. Now, the kingdom that begin under Nimrod has a Became a byword for Godless government. And it would resurface and and it will resurface. I should say in the last days and be defeated, we have a direct connection all the way back to babble into the future Babylon. That will be appearing in the Book of Revelation and prophesied about. And some of these profits that we have mentioned today from this defeat

will be easy on opposable evidence that Messiahs conquering will unfold into his reign of peace and security.
