The Promise of an Answer

Jesus repeatedly promised his disciples that whatever was asked “IN MY NAME” would be provided.
For Glorifying God! John 14:12-14 ““Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.”
John 15:7 “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”
The promise is given so that we may have joy. Christ has ascended back to heaven and given us the Holy Spirit. We have joy in fellowship.

The Prerequisite for a Hearing

We must believe (John 14:12). That means to have our faith placed solely in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that he is who he claimed to be and is the only Way, Truth, and Life!
We must come in HIS NAME. The Lord Jesus said to approach the Father in His name.
example kids sending the youngest to ask.
We must abide in His Word.
Prayer is done with the assurance that the Father loves us and wants what is best for us! Prayer brings joy and peace (verses 24 and 33)

The Priority of the Lord

Jesus closed the Upper Room time with the greatest prayer. It reveals the priority of the Lord.
Often, we don’t see answers to our prayers because we come rushing in without considering the priority of God in our situation.
Jesus’ priority is our preservation in the world.
Jesus’ priority is our sanctification in the truth.
Jesus’ priority is our unity in fellowship with the Father and Son.
Jesus’ priority is our fellowship in His presence.
