John 14th chapter Jesus was speaking to the disciples about the fact that no matter what the future was about to bring no matter what they thought would happen He had promises for them to calm them in their hearts these promises are for us too!
Text: Read John 14:1-3
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
a. To those who are sick don’t give up God provides healing
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
B. To any who need help He gives it freely!
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
c. He also gives us something else by His love!
1 John 4:10KJV
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Beginning in John 14:3 we are reminded that He is coming again! Don’t lose hope because Jesus is coming back!
Some people hope for money that the lottery will come in for them, others hope for love of another, some hope for other things but we have a Great Hope! Something to look forward to!
1 Thessalonians 4:14-15KJV
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
