Matthew 6:24-34 (KJV)

24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

V24 Nobody can serve two master yet many try! We must stop worrying about the things of this life! I remember meeting someone not long ago who almost lost her husband, he was standing on a hillside near his new truck when he noticed it was rolling. He had forgotten to put on the parking brake! He began chasing it on foot over the hill and just did catch up to it when it was picking up speed. While running he opened the door, and leaped into the truck head first, and barely managed to reach the brake in time before it crashed at the bottom. What if he missed when he leaped in headfirst? What if? He and his wife hardly ever spoke to one another they worked different shifts neither one willing to give up their jobs for fear of losing their brand new automobiles!

25We are taught from childhood to “plan for a bright tomorrow” we worry about money, time, our living standard, our homes, war, killings, hatred, the future, our health. The list goes on and on.

Psalm 55:22 (KJV)

22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)

7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

V26 “how low do you think of yourself? We worry about having enough money to pay tithes some pastors are scared to even teach about it because of how the church will respond to him or her. But not just them the wealthy sometimes worry too much about making more money and they lose out as well!

Luke 12:18 (KJV)

18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

V27 Some worry all the more about their age, how long they have left to go, or their health but worry can only do one thing to your health and it ain’t good!

I am not saying to forget good health! Just not spend so much time thinking and more time believing!

V31-34 Don’t spend so much time in worry, spend time in prayer, in thanksgiving, Count your blessings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
