Jesus Can Do It All!!!!

The disciples saw a lot of wonderful miracles! Like the song goes just ask the blind man, he saw it all, ask the deaf man he heard everything, ask the lame man he just ran by here they saw dead people come to life, demon possessed freed yet they still lacked faith!

John 6:1-15KJV

1 After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias. 2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased. 3 And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples. 4 And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh. 5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? 6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. 7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. 8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him, 9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? 10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. 11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. 12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. 13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. 14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

What do you expect when you pray? The time was when people would come to an altar with a major problem and after some counseling there they were able to pray and by the time they went back to their seats they were expecting an answer. I fear that time has long since passed!

Verses 1-4 John the Baptist was beheaded as put in the other gospels and Jesus went to be alone but not only the followers of John, also the sick and the lame followed Jesus.

Verse 5-6 Jesus decided to give Philip a little test! Just like he gives us from time to time!

a.       What was that test? How did Philip solve his problems worry?

b.      What did he expect to see?

Verse 7-9 Philip saw a lack of money (it will take 8 months wages to give them a snack!) Andrew said we have a little boy here with a few loaves and fishes but that isn’t enough!

a.       We spend far too much time putting limits on God’s power!

Ephesians 3:16-20KJV

16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

b.       Think about all the miracles Philip saw before that still he was worried

c.        Think about all the miracles you have witnessed still we worry!

Verse 10 The men sat down in number about 5000 other scriptures (Matt 14:21) say 5,000 men + women + children! My guess is about 12 – 20,000!

Verse 11-12 Jesus blessed the food and the disciples handed it out (Jesus blesses our work and we go out and do it!)

Verse 12-15 when the miracle was done there were 12 baskets “Left Over” Jesus can do anything! And that day they saw a miracle like never before!

a.       He is the Lord our Provider! Don’t put a limit on what God can do!

Romans 4:21KJV

21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

b.      What do you expect when you pray? An answer? Great lets pray right now! This church needs a building the District is coming Thursday to look at it, let’s pray and get it!

1 Corinthians 2:9KJV

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
