Romans 1:18-25 Wrath of God

God’s Wrath againts Man’s Suppression of Truth (18-20)

God’s power should be revealed

Revealed from heaven- God is active

It was revealed in Creation (Psalm 19:1-6)

It was revealed in God’s Word (Psalm 19:7-11)

he has shown it unto man clearly

Man is without excuse

Man is actively suppressing the truth of God- they are holding it back

They are doing this by rejecting the clearly revealed truth of his eternal power and Godhead

God’s wisdom should be revealed

It is revealed through Christ

1 Corinthians 1:17-31 The foolishness of God confounds the wise

Man is given over to foolishness

They became vain in their imaginations

Their heart is darkened by their foolishness

God’s glory should be revealed

He is the eternal uncorruptable God who alone is worthy of glory

His glory has been revealed from the beginning through Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, Nehemiah

His glory is shown throught the person and work of his Son, Christ Jesus (John 12:28)

Man is given over to dishonor

God has given them over to the destructin of their own bodies and natures

They changed the truth into a lie and worship the creature so God is dishonoring the creature to show their foolishness

How do we reveal the power, wisdom and glory of God?

We trust the revealed truth of God in his holy scriptures

We preach the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ

We reject the base and corruptible things of earth and live for Christ
