I. The Proclamation of the Righteousness of God (1:1–4): Peter writes concerning our Christian faith.
A. The preciousness (1:1–2): Great value is attached to our faith.
2 Peter 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

a. to receive by divine allotment, to cast lots.
b. chosen by lot, implying divine choice.
