Worship For the Purpose

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Focusing on and Responding to God

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

God is awe-inspiring.

You can worship on your own.

To be considered a Christian, you must worship God corporately.

Hebrews 10:25 KJV 1900

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

Are you a worshiper of God or a admirer of Christ from a distance.

being sincere in our acts of worship.

From singing a song you might not know or even like. Siting and engaging the sermon even though you might not quite get what the preacher is saying. Praying with all your heart during the times of corporate prayer.

Discipline to be cultivated

Matthew 4:10 KJV 1900

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Worship cannot be diagramed or calculated, it is the response of a heart in love with God.

People become like wha they focus on.

If we are to be Godly, we must focus on God. Godliness requires disciplined worship.
