PRAY FOR THOSE WHO MISTREAT YOU
Luke 6:28 (NIV)
28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

28 Invoke blessings upon and pray for the happiness of those who curse you, implore God’s blessing (favor) upon those who abuse you [who revile, reproach, disparage, and high-handedly misuse you].

§ Pray for blessings, happiness, and God’s favor on those who mistreat you!
PRAY FOR WORKERS
Luke 10:2 (NIV)
2 He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.

2 And He said to them, The harvest indeed is abundant there is much ripe grain], but the farmhands are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

PRAY FOR THE KINGDOM TO COME

PRAY FOR FORGIVENESS

Application
§ Pray for forgiveness—but remember, until you forgive you are not forgiven!
§ Cannot say, “I forgive, but I will never forget! Forgive as you are forgiven by God!
PRAY TO BE RESCUED FROM TEMPTATION

And lead us not into temptation.’ ”

PRAY FOR THE STRENGTH THAT DOES NOT GIVE UP

PRAY FOR YOUR ESCAPE FROM TRIBULATION
Luke 21:36 (NIV)
36 Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

36 Keep awake then and watch at all times [be discreet, attentive, and ready], praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.
Application
§ Pray for you escape from future tribulation, that you may stand before Christ—with Him saying, “well done!”
PRAY TO DELIVERED BEFORE YOU LEAD YOURSELF TO RUIN

40 On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”
46 “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”

Application
§ In Luke 11:4, the thought is to be rescued by God from temptation
§ Here the thought is to pray that you may be watchful to rescue yourself BEFORE you enter temptation through carelessness or disobedience!
