What it says:
Matthew 10:24–25 ““A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household.”
What it means:
Axiom- disciple not above teacher, servant not above master
Jesus instructs his disciples to be prepared for the same kind of rejection and acceptance that He receives.

ONE Way Flow-

? Is Jesus God or Guru?
We will never be above Jesus.
never more loving
never more merciful
never more understanding
never more gracious
We can’t edit God
religious- warning against self -righteousness, condemning spirit
rebellious- we must bend the knee to Jesus. Start at Scripture and look out to the world
It is enough to be like Him
conformed to His image (Romans 12:1–2 “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” )
believers are in “the program” of being made like Christ.
We can expect to receive what Jesus got
rejection from the world
acceptance from God in Christ

TWO Way Flow-

Father/Son----> Father and Son----> Son/Father
Role model- 1 Corinthians 16:13–14 “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”
be watchful
stand firm in the faith
act like men / act like women
be strong. (Lived Out in Christ)
do it all in love (26)
Pass this on to our sons and daughters
Pass this on to nex gen Church
In Jesus, God rescues those who turn to Him, adopts them into His family, and sets them on a course of becoming like Jesus.
