Pre- sermon -
Matthew 9:35–38 ESV
35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
Jesus saw the crowds and had compassion on them. - Brooksville Joke.

Matthew 28:16 ESV
16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them.
Galilee - their home. Back to the place where they met Jesus.
Matthew 28:17 ESV
17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted.
Some doubted - this was after everything. They were still doubting!
Matthew 28:18 ESV
18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
All Authority - Jesus has it all.
Matthew 28:19 ESV
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Go - means go. To be intential.
Make disciples - not just evanglize, but to make disciples. Disciples means followeres.
of all nations. - Even new yorkers! We are called to intentially go out.
Baptizing them - This is an act of obedience to God.
Matthew 28:20 ESV
20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Teaching them - this is part of the making disciples. Teaching them.

Allt hat I have commanded you - You can’t do this withouth intentional discipleship. You can;t do this without the local church.
