Evangelism brings joy as we learn to follow the Lord and get involved in His work!

The Message (Good News)

Evangelism is sharing the Euangelion (Good News) of Jesus Christ with others.
He is God in the flesh! (v. 44)
He suffered death on the cross for our sins!
He rose again for our justification Romans 4:24-25 “It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.”
Repentance and forgiveness of sins are received by faith.

The Mission

It starts at home!
Acts 1:8 ESV
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
The disciples first started by going to their family and friends.
They simply invited others to come meet Jesus! John 1:35-50
Andrew brought his brother Peter.
Philip brought his friend Nathaniel.
The mission is always expanding outward. That means we have to Go! Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””

The Means

Empowered by the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the one who leads you in evangelism. Pray and be obedient. Trust Him to guide the conversation.
You are empowered and equipped by the the Holy Spirit.
Everytime you witness you are engaged in God’s work! The Holy Spirit is present The only witness that fails is the one that never tells!
“The Holy Spirit may grant much power to your witness in an evangelistic encournter without giving to you any feeling or sense of power in it.” Don Whitney
Equipped to Minister
Ephesians 4:11-13 “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,”
Those with the gift of evangelism are called to equip all the saints to evangelize!
