1 Chronicles 4:9-10 (NKJV)- 9 Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” 10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

“our Father who art in heaven, hallow be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

B. Jabez prays for God’s provision. Jesus taught, “give us this day our daily bread.”

C. Jabez prays for his family. Jesus taught to pray for others also: "forgive us our debts and we forgive our debtors."

D. Jabez prayed for God's protection. Jesus taught to pray for God's protection: "and deliver us from evil."

E. Jesus taught us to honor God for what He will do: "for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory..."
