ARE THINGS WHAT THEY APPEAR TO BE
Titus 2:11-13
“Appeared” – come into sight
Here are some SIGHTS we see for the believers

I. The Appearance of Grace. v.11

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Luke 24:47 “And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” John 12:32 “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” 2 Corinthians 5:14 “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:”
1 John 2:2 “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

II. The Appearance of Godliness.v.12

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
2 Timothy 2:25 “In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;”
Who will God use to teach them?
Matthew 28:20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
John 6:45 “It is written in the prophets*, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.”
(*Isaiah 54:13)
Romans 6:12–16
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Here are some SIGHTS we see for the believers
I. The Appearance of Grace. v.11

III. The Appearance of God. v.13

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Jesus is coming to get His church!
1 Thessalonians 4:13–18
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Corinthians 15:50–53
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.” 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
Revelation 4:1
After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
Note “Come up hither” is the “trump of God” (1 Thessalonians 4:16) and the “trumpet” of (1 Corinthians 15:51).
Jesus said in John 10:27 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:”
The voice of Jesus is all we are waiting on.
Conclusion:
What are you waiting on?
A musical instrument?
Ezekiel 28:13
Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
Satan was a walking musical!
The Master’s instruction?
“Come up hither”
We have heard His voice from Scripture:
“Ye must be born again”
“Follow me” etc.
We wait for His appearing to catch us away!
