1 Corinthians 10:26 KJV 1900
For the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof.
Psalm 24:1 KJV 1900
The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; The world, and they that dwell therein.

God owns everything

since everything is God’s the question is not, “how much of my money should I give to God?” but rather, “How much of God’s money should I keep for myself?”

Giving is an act of worship

Philippians 4:8 KJV 1900
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Giving reflects faith in God’s provision

Giving should be sacrificial and generous

Giving reflects spiritual trustworthiness

Luke 16:10–13 KJV 1900
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Luke 6:38 KJV 1900
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

God never says that if you give faithfully He will give you a lot of money, or some other specific earthly blessing. But He does say He will bless you in this life if you love Him enough and trust Him enough to be generous in your giving to Him.
