Mark 1:10-11
Creation was a project of the triune God Genesis 1:2 “The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”
Recreation was a project of the triune God
The Trinity is difficult its 3 persons 1 being and our minds have trouble figuring that out because its beyond our understanding of reality and personhood
what we know is that it is not TriTheism or Unipersonalism
The Trinity is a “Dance”

Mark 1:10–11 “And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.””
God envelops with Love
The Holy Spirit envelops with Power
And this dance has been going on for eternity
C.S. Lewis "God is a Being which contains three Persons while remaining one Being....The First Person is called the Father and the Second the Son. We say the First begets or produces the Second; we call it begetting, not making, because what He produces is of the same kind as Himself.... The Son exists because the Father exists: but there was never a time before the Father produced the Son....(He is always), so to speak, streaming forth from the Father, like light from a lamp... or thoughts from a mind. He is the self-expression of the Father – what the Father has to say. And there was never a time when He was not saying it....Much the most important thing to know is that it is a relationship of love. The Father delights in the Son; the Son looks up to His Father....What the Christians mean by the statement "God is love" (1John 4:8) ... is that the living, dynamic activity of love has been going on in God forever and has created everything else....In Christianity God is not a static thing... but a dynamic, pulsating activity, a life, almost a kind of drama. Almost, if you will not think me irreverent, a kind of dance"
And now, what does it all matter? It matters more than anything else in the world. The whole dance, or drama, or pattern of this three-Personal life is to be played out in each one of us: or (putting it the other way round) each one of us has got to enter that pattern, take his place in that dance. There is no other way to the happiness for which we were made.
A self centered life is a stationary life
you might have friends, give to the poor, have a wife AS LONG AS it doesn;t mess up your interests
GOD IS NOT LIKE THIS

The Godhead centers around one another, everyone of them voluntarily goes out to serve another
Thats the God that made the universe, what does that mean for us?
Christianity is unique for this and the implications of this changes the way you live your life
If God is unipersonal then love didn’t exist until the beginning of the world nothing but power and greatness not love and relationship- this creates moralism and absolutism
Secularism leads to relativism
The trinity dynamic, unity and diversity produces? Something inconcievably good
The idea that theres just a unipersonal God leads to individualism because God is an individual so my rights are the most important
Polytheism leads to idolotry of the tribe or family
The Triune God is not more fundamentally individual than community and not more community than individual so the Triune God is viable
IF THE WORLD WAS MADE BY A TRIUNE GOD THEN RELATIONSHIPS OF LOVE IS WHAT YOUR LIFE IS ALL ABOUT
If you evolved then love is just a chemical in your brain
If God is unipersonal there was no love before creation and it is not the essence of God and therefor isn’t the essense of reality
IF GOD IS TRIUNE then ultimate reality is about loving and living in relationships
The world is telling us relationships are nice as long as they don’t get in the way of money power achievement accomplishment your personal interests etc
If you put anything over relationships you will dash yourself on the rocks of reality because love is the ultimate reality
You cannot get a sense of self by standing still and letting everything orbit around your interests.
Creation was made by a God who is a community, this world is a divine dance
Look at the solar system, everything orbits the sun dances with the sun, if every planet wanted everything to orbit it we would have a cataclysmic event
What does Glorify mean
What does Glorify mean
Beauty and Duty
You’re not glorifing something unless you find it beautiful
You’re not glorifying something if you’re trying to get something out of it but just because of who they are
God does not seek his own glory but that of others through the trinity, God is INFINITELY happy
If you have someone you adore and you find out that they adore you, doesnt that feel good? Its heaven its what God has been doing for eternity
How can we say God doesn’t seek His own glory
Of course He asks us of these things, because He wants our joy
Why would a God like this create a world?
unipersonal (so beings will give him worshipful love, but he already has that)
Why create us, He must have created us not to get but to give us His joy to invite us in to ask us to dance.
He says if you glorify me you an participate in this dance and this joy. You are made to devote your everything to the Lord
Are you in the dance or are you just using God as a genie or a plaything
The most terrifying proposition
“I promise to obey God whether I like it or not
I promise to thank him for everything he sends whether I like it or not”
It’s an invitation to the dance and we are scared. An invitation to orbit around him
So How can we get in, it’s through Jesus
Mark 1:12–13 “The Spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness. And he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. And he was with the wild animals, and the angels were ministering to him.”
Compare first adam to second adam
Jesus the second adam had an infinitely harder path than ended in the anit garden the garden of gethsemane
The first adam was asked to not eat of the tree, why?
Because the dance is the point, If God tells adam why he then moves to a point of being stationary rather than trusting and loving God
He wanted us to not eat of the tree just because He says so, Just because we love Him.Satans lie was “giving up your life for someone else doesn’t work”
A world where everyone says everything revolves around me is a world with no dance
God said, First adam Obey about the tree and you’ll live
Second Adam obey me about the tree and I’ll crush you and He did
When Jesus died on the cross what did He get out of it?
Worship? He ALREADY HAD IT
He got nothing, He glorified us, He encircled us, He orbited us
If you see that and it becomes a beautiful thing you have begun to enter the dance. The cross was the invitation to the dance.
John 17:21–24 “that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.”
father I’ve given them the glory you’ve given me..You’ll love them even as you love me
When you enter the dance you say father accept me not for what I’ve done but for what you’ve done
You cant survive without being part of that dance, you’ll die
You have to be part of a community, how can you know a God who is a community except in a community
Become a person of praise make sure you prayer life consists of praise. Praise and Joy are what life is about
