Introduction
First time sharing the Gospel. Henry.
Personal evangelism can be awkward, but effective.
And every time since, awkward, but effective.
By the power of the Holy Spirit, evangelism makes a difference.
Be a preacher.
Be a preacher.
Paul shares the Gospel (vv. 5-13).
Confess with mouth Jesus is Lord (repentance).
Believe in your heart resurrection (forgiveness).
Heart one believes and is justified.
Mouth one confesses and is saved.
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
A quote of Joel 2:32.
Then, the application of what Paul has just said. Vv. 14-17.
Calling requires faith.
Faith requires hearing.
Hearing requires proclamation.
Proclamation requires commissioning.
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”
That they are no longer under the bondage of the Babylonians.
Christians are no longer under the bondage of sin.
Summary:
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Be a builder.
Be a builder.
Build a bridge of relationship strong enough to bear the weight of the truth you have to give.
A bridge requires a plan.

Eventually you have to give them the truth.
We can be master builders, but the relationship becomes an idol.
We think that living a good life is enough.
Lots of pagans, atheists, and Hindus who are living a “good life.”
Your silence does not get people to Jesus.
