An ineffective Church is a church that is not unified!
Text
Philippians 2:1–2 ESV
1 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, 2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.
Paul wants his joy complete - and that joy is drawn from a church that is unified.
This is not a unity that is forced or manipulated.
This unity is a natural byproduct of a church centered on Jesus Christ.
What does a church centered on Christ look like?
There are four indicators that a church is healthy, unified, and fulfilling God’s redemptive purpose.

Encouragement drawn of Jesus Christ.

Thomas: From doubt to passionate faith.
John 20:26–29 ESV
26 Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” 28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Comfort drawn from Love.

The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37)

Fellowship drawn from the Holy Spirit.

Peter and John arrested (Acts 4:1-31) An empowered Church can face anything.
Acts 4:31 ESV
31 And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

Compassion drawn friendship.

David and Jonathan
