“Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and they said
unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall
we do?
Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the
name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift
of the Holy Ghost.”
Acts 2:37,38 KJV 1611
Now Then, Peter was given the task to Preach the word, he was an Apostle
ordained by Jesus Christ.
Was his message true and faithful?
If so why do so many Church's reject Baptism?
It is actually opposed with
such venom, preferring this dry clean only “Salvation” where all they have to
do is say a Prayer.
This is the last message in the series and again I want to
touch on the importance of Baptism Firstly, Baptism is for the believer, one
who has shown the fruits of Repentance see Matthew 3:8
Baptism is not for babies at so called Christenings It is for the penetant
believer who wishes to be washed in the blood of the Lamb and receive the
Gift of the Holy Ghost.
Look at the Story of Philip and the Eunuch to seek
clarification, the Eunuch asks what hinders him from being Baptized.
Philip
replies, “If thou believest thou mayest.”
see Acts 8:36-40 KJV 1611
I will list a few other verses that highlight Baptism and it's importance.
Matthew 28:19 Mark 1:4,5 Mark 16:16 John 3:5 Acts 8:12,13 Acts 8:16
Paul's Baptism is recorded in the Bible see Acts 9:17,18
Lydia and her whole house was Baptized see Acts 16:14,15 You cannot get
away from Baptism at all in the New Testament Church.
Why do these so
called Church's oppose Baptism so much?
Why don't they just obey?
Well I
would say the reason is, it is far easier to get people to say a cute little prayer
and get them attending the Church regularly, than saying a requirement is to be
Baptized, after all lets face it, the more people that are in the Church the more
money is coming into the till!
And just like any other business, this seems to be
the highest priority in these places.
You should also be aware evidence suggests
men were re-baptized in the Bible, upon those who were Baptized by John, this
was pre Christ's death and resurrection so hence a different dispensation.
They were Baptized into Christ Jesus and received the gift of the Holy Ghost.
See Acts 19:1-5
Let us reason one to another, If Baptism is not for remission of Sins and is
simply, membership into a Church as you are previously saved through saying
the prayer.
Then why did Ananias say unto Paul why tarriest thou, arise be
baptized, and wash away thy sins calling on the name of the Lord.
See Acts 22:16 KJV 1611
You can see that this is a cry of urgency, a “What are you waiting for?” type
urgency that requires and demands a speedy response.
Surely once he believed and said the Prayer he was fine wasn't he!!???!!
Well not according to Scripture, here is the sense of it.
Baptism brings you
into contact with the blood of Christ, what can wash away our sins?
Nothing
but the blood of Jesus.
Baptism represents the death to sin and raise in
newness of life.
To come into the contact of the blood and to be washed.
Understanding the concept of Acts 22:16 to wash away thy sin.
To simply what
I have just wrote there a little bit easier Check out Romans 6:3,4
so many of us Baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death.
I can say with absolute clarity that Baptism is requirement for the obedience of
our faith.
Look at this “For as many of you as have been baptized into
Christ have put on Christ.”
Galatians 3:27 KJV 1611
Its spelt out plainly right there.
Take a look at Colossians 2:12-13
“Buried with him in Baptism, where in also you are risen with him
through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the
dead.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your
flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all
trespasses.”
Colossians 2:12-13 KJV 1611
Once again we are buried with him in Baptism, in order for us to come into
contact with the saving blood of Christ, we are to buried with him in Baptism
and raised into newness of life with the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Lets look at one
more verse.
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy Ghost.”
Titus 3:5
Check this stuff out, see if these things are so.
For goodness sake don't just take
Paster Judas word for it.
Please take the time to read and study this.
ITS
EXTREMLY IMPORTANT, THESE LIES BEING SPREAD ARE
EFFECTING THE SOULS OF MILLIONS.
“The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the
putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of of a good
conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
1st Peter 3:21
