Text: Romans 8:31 (KJV 1900)

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Ever feel hopeless? Like everything and everyone was against you? Did you ever feel as though you were all alone with absolutely no possible way out?

1.    That is what one fine little servant felt one morning!

a.      Syria’s king declared war against

2 Kings 6:8 (KJV 1900)

8 Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.

b.      Elisha kept sending word don’t go here or there

2 Kings 6:9-10 (KJV 1900)

9 And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down. 10 And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.

c.       You can imagine how this made the Syrian king feel! He was angry and wanted to know who the spy was

2 Kings 6:8-18 (KJV 1900)

12 And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber. 13 And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan. 14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.

2.   Remember God is with us!

a.       We feel sometimes as though we don’t know what we can do!

2 Kings 6:15 (KJV 1900)

15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

b.       There are more on our side than the enemy has!

2 Kings 6:16 (KJV 1900)

16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

c.       God isn’t just around the prophets of old he protects you and me as well! And he doesn’t just stand there watching He helps us!

2 Kings 6:17-18 (KJV 1900)

17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. 18 And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

3.   What is your battle? Who or What has stolen your peace?

a.       No matter  how much pain you are feeling God can deliver you today if we let him!

Psalm 55:18 (KJV 1900)

18 He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: For there were many with me.

b.      You have the almighty looking out for you!

Psalm 34:7 (KJV 1900)

7 The angel of the LORD encampeth Round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

c.       Never give up!

Psalm 23:4–5 (KJV 1900)

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
