He that is in me

1 Corinthians 12:5–12 KJV 1900
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
Where is the Spirit?
What does He do?
YES, the Spirit is referred to as a He. This does not mean He has the anatomy of a human. Lets not limit one of the three Godhead to our understanding. But yes, the Holy Spirit is a He. So I will refer to Him as a He as the word of God does.
Let us discover or be reminded of who He is by what He has and is doing.
Gives us what we need to enter into ENTER THE KINGDOM of GOD.
John 3:5–6 NASB95
5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
He COMFORTS us through reminding us of what Jesus has done and will do.
John 14:26 NASB95
26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
He GUIDES you in your life and through the battle.
John 16:13 NASB95
13 “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.
He HELPS us to live out our faith by sharing the GOOD NEWS BOLDLY through God’s power, not our own.
1 Corinthians 2:4–5 NASB95
4 and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.
EXAMPLE
Acts 4:31 NASB95
31 And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.
The HOLY SPIRIT helps you to live a more HOLY LIFE in this DEPRAVED WORLD that is being RULED by the ENEMY.
Romans 8:5–6 NASB95
5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,
ALSO
Galatians 5:16–17 NASB95
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.
To DO BATTLE by GLORIFYING GOD through the displaying of the GIFTS given to you, to be used for building HIS KINGDOM.
Question, when a WAR is going on, WHO ARE DOING BATTLE - KINGDOM VS KINGDOM. We either build of a kingdom that wars against GOD’s kingdom OR we build GOD’s Kingdom, there is no neutral party.
Hebrews 2:4 NASB95
4 God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.
1 Corinthians 12:7 NASB95
7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
WARNING - CAUTION - HAZARDOUS MATERIAL/WASTE
Don’t RESIST the Holy Spirit.
Acts 7:51 NASB95
51 “You men who are stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing just as your fathers did.
INSTEAD - BE FILLED
Ephesians 5:18 NASB95
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
How to receive the Holy Spirit...
Acts 2:38–39 NASB95
38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 “For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.”
UNITED - ONE BODY - BY THE SPIRIT
1 Corinthians 12:12 NASB95
12 For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.
AND the LORDS SUPPER
1 Corinthians 11:23–26 NASB95
23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
Romans 8:11 NASB95
11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
John 16:7–14 NASB95
7 “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. 8 “And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; 11 and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. 12 “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. 14 “He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.
1.) Strategy in numbers - omnipresence
Jesus, while on earth, was limited to one body, being in one place at one time. As far as we know, this is the only time He was limited in this way. Why does this matter. I believe, or at least it makes sense to me, that it was and is strategic for Jesus to leave, because after He leaves, this is when the Holy Spirit comes. Jesus is no longer confined to being in one place at one time, because He is connected to the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is living in many people at once. Conforming us to the likeness of Him.
This MIGHT be one of the reasons why Jesus said...
John 14:12–16 NASB95
12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. 13 “Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 “If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. 15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. 16 “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
AN evidence that you have TRULY confessed that Jesus is Lord having actually believed it to be true is that you REPRESENT Jesus to others. Not PERFECTLY, NOT EXACTLY, that is why the word REPRESENT is used, because you DO NOT TURN INTO CHRIST, but you are striving for becoming LIKE Him, understanding the difference between how the ENEMY wanted to be LIKE GOD and how we will become LIKE JESUS. - Maybe don’t go into the whole “LIKE” comparison. Might be too in depth or distraction.
John 7:37–39 NASB95
37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. 38 “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ ” 39 But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Colossians 3:16–17 NASB95
16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
Ephesians 5:15–21 NASB95
15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, 16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil. 17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; 20 always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; 21 and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.
PETER was given the ability to speak truth, wisdom, with boldness to the religious leaders who were debating what to do with the disciples, and it sounded like they were going to be killed for their faith, martyred.
Its GOOD to WANT the indwelling and filling of the Holy Spirit, but it is NOT GOOD to pretend, to try to force, recreate, or produce the acts of the Holy Spirit on your own strength, worldly wisdom, power, craftiness. You are NOT HELPING ANYONE, by creating a spectacle that is false in the pursuit of something godly.
Galatians 5:22 NASB95
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Where is or what is the Holy Spirit during the end times? Some believe we are in the end times. This could mean many things. In the book of Revelation, the Spirit is not left out, but He is not mentioned as much, because He is still at work, equipping the saints who will be martyred.
Revelation 6:9–11 NASB95
9 When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained; 10 and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, would be completed also.
