v. 13-15 | After reading from the Old Testament, one of the rulers called upon Paul and Barnabas to bring them an encouraging word. The people during this day were curious about this gospel that these men were preaching.
If you were asked to bring an encouraging word to someone who is seeking the Lord but may not have believed yet, what would you say?
v. 16 | Paul recognizes their background as Jewish people.
When we desire to share the truth, we have to understand where people are coming from. This is why evangelism is far more effective with people we have an established relationship with.
So, what is the word of encouragement that Paul offers them in the synagogue?

v. 17 |
Even in difficult times, the people of God were made great by Him.
He eventually led them out of the difficult situation. It was because of His uplifted arm.
v. 18 |
God puts up with us even in our moments of disobedience.
v. 19-23 |
Victory over the enemies of God is many times long.
God gives necessary leaders (judges, David, and Jesus)
v. 24-25 |
Many will be used to plant seeds for others to harvest after the fact just as John the Baptist was used to prepare the way for Jesus.
v. 26 |
Jesus Christ has been sent to all people as a message of salvation.
v. 27 |
The whole of the New Testament points to the coming Messiah. This prophecy was fulfilled with the coming and going of Jesus.
v. 28 |
Jesus was innocent and still endured death.
v. 29-31 |
Though He was crucified, Jesus conquered death by being raised from the dead.
There were many who witnessed Him following the resurrection.
v. 32-33 |
Everything that was promised in the Old Testament was fulfilled in the Gospels.
v. 34-37 |
The body of Jesus is not here on earth. Unlike the body of King David, the body of Jesus was not left to rot here on earth because of His ascension into heaven.

Forgiveness of sins is now possible because of Jesus’ death on the cross. His death accomplishes what the law could not, the atonement for sins.
v. 40-41 |
A great blessing is made available to those who believe but those who do not believe will suffer in ways that would not even be believed.
