Echoes of Evill (1-4)

A Case for murder.
Alright imagine this right! This is going to be bold.
We all go to chickos right? not sure if you do but it’s a chicken shop located just a few streets away.
At chickos, the chicken shop there has been a murder!
Oh no!!!
A witness comes forward with information about the murder. We’ll call this person witness #1.
Another person We’ll call witness #2 was just standing about.
Now a couple months pass and another witness comes forward with evidence that Witness #1 is wrong and witness 2 is the murderer!!!
Now if we know that witness #3 is correct right, they have evidence. They know it’s right … Does the fact that witness #1 came forward first with maybe half truths, and not the whole picture. Does that make witness 3’s account any less true? Just becasue it came first doesn’t always mean it’s true or accurate.
Now Metaphor and jokes aside.
This is what we are dealing with today. The flood story. You might be like Noah, there is no other flood story. Well you’d be wrong. There is another account of Mesopotamian origin called Gilgamesh. This creation story has interesting similarities but great disparities.
Both have floods, people not fully dying and humanity surviving.....
Interesting stuff right.
Well this account of creation comes before genesis was ever made. It wasn’t around. Does this make gilgamesh truer than genesis. No it doesn’t, we have God who shows us what we need to know and importnat information that we should know, which is good!
Chatting about our heroes and who we look at with renown.
Increase - Distortion
Marriage - Distortion
Fall fruit - Distortian
Nephalim - fallens ones who are heroes and renown.
Who is heroes in time , those of renown.
God’s assessment
Genesis 1:2 (NIV)
2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
Genesis 1:10, 12, 18, 21, 25, Genesis 1:31
Genesis 1:31 NIV
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
God makes a intial assessment of things are good.
In this section God declares that things are wicked. Gen 6:5
Genesis 6:5 (NIV)
5 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.
Because it does not correspond with.
Eg. Hears
Evil all time (focused on it)
Greived
Condescending language, God drops to the human level so that we can understand God and what he is currently feeling at the moment.
Genesis 6:7 NIV
7 So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.”
Is God’s judgement, it’s unwavering and righteous. It might seem to us that this is a crazy way about going about trying to heal a people right? We think that God might act way to harshly with hummanity at this point. But remeber. God made a judgement, all of hummanites heart was wicked and evil. I trust God and so should you that it is true.
Genesis 6:9–10 NIV
9 This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. 10 Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.
Righteous recieved faithful without the law yet.
How is Noah faithful without the law?
