A victory mind Set is based on an understanding of God and his word…
It’s hard to have victory when we really don’t understand God nor his word
All to often, Gods word to many people seems to be a book that just can’t understand.
If we don’t have a full and deep understanding of Gods word our lives can become misaligned and we don’t even know it.
If I was to ask people if they where a good person..for the most part many would say they are a good person
This depends heavily on the understanding and definition of “good” and whose definition we are aspiring to.
Even Christ said “why call ye me good” .....there is only one good and that is God.
If we want, as believers in Christ, to get closer and more personal with our God..we must strive to understand him in a more meaningful way.
A Victory MindSet is not one of uncertainty or clouded vision but rather, one of understanding
Once we begin to understand God and the things of God, we can begin to see victory and clarity in our lives.
In order for that to happen, we must not only have the knowledge of our God....but to have the understanding as well.
We must understand what a “Victory MindSet” means and how it is defined.
Isaiah 41:10 KJV 1900
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: Be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; Yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Often times we struggle to understand God because we are looking at things that are spiritually understood through our own carnal eyes.
Sometimes because we don’t take the time to understand.
Philippians gives us a proper perspective in part, on how we should think using a “victory MindSet”
Philippians 4:8–9 KJV 1900
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
what this is saying is that if there be any virtue or praise…meaning: If there be any moral excellence of character and to glorify God especially by the attribution of perfections, ..we are to think on these things or upon positive things.
These suggestions are in the word of God because It drives us towards the proper mindset....and thinking positively rather than dwelling on the negative.
Let’s look at what it is to be positive:
“Positive thinking is a mental and emotional attitude that focuses on the bright side of life and expects positive results.” (Remez Sasson: founder and owner of SuccessConsciousness.com.
we must ask ourselves: are we controlling this life or are we allowing this life to control us.
Are we walking with God expecting a positive result or are we just winging it and hoping for the best.
Quote:
"Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you'll start having positive results." – Willie Nelson
Lets take a look at some attributes of having a positive attitude and of optimism.
Optimism: a willingness to make an effort and take a chance instead of assuming your efforts won’t pay off.
Acceptance: acknowledging that things don’t always turn out how you want them to, but learning from your mistakes.
Resilience: bouncing back from adversity, disappointment, and failure instead of giving up.
Gratitude: actively, continuously appreciating the good things in your life (Blank, 2017).
Consciousness/Mindfulness: dedicating the mind to conscious awareness and enhancing the ability to focus.
Integrity: the trait of being honorable, righteous, and straightforward, instead of deceitful and self-serving (Power of Positivity, n.d.).
In these things, we have to literally train our minds to think a certain way rather than excepting defeat and walking away
We must learn to have an outward focus rather than just an inward focus.
An outward focus causes us to focus on other people, on being Christ like, on focusing on what we can do for Christ and not just on our selfishness.
An inward focus is a focus on self centeredness, on me, myself and I. On what my problems are and not on Christ or what I can do for him.
These things are true based on the context of what we are talking about.
Sometimes we do need to look inwardly and not outwardly
It’s difficult to be focused on self and at the same time, having our focus on Christ.
What is victory?? Victory is the conquest of, or gaining of a decisive advantage over, an enemy.
Which is to say that no matter what comes my way, I will remain faithful to God whether on the mountain top or in the valley
Therefor, to have a victory mindset....is to gain a decisive advantage over our adversary…the enemy of our soul…by putting God first and allowing God to control our direction and destiny.
We must remember that God is good, in control and trustworthy even if everything seems out of control.
Isaiah 41:10 KJV 1900
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: Be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; Yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
God has promised that he would always be with us…that he will never leave us nor forsake us.
It’s time we start living life on purpose instead of accidently…taking charge of our future and walk with God.
I like what Dolly Parton said:
"Find out who you are and do it on purpose."
We have to live this life with purpose and on purpose....meaning, as a believer, fully trusting in God without doubt and with a deliberate or express purpose.
by deliberate we mean characterized by or resulting from careful and thorough consideration.
Isaiah 26:3–4 KJV 1900
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on thee: Because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: For in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
The word stayed means:
A mind that is stedfast...firmly fixed in place.
A mind that is not subject to change; it's firm in belief, determination, or adherence.
Having a mind that is stedfast is having a mind that fully trusts in God.
Our God is a steady rock. He does not change or falter.
Therefor, we can have peace if we have a mind that is stedfastly stayed on God
Quote: “If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one.” — Dolly Parton
We must, at times we find ourselves on the wrong road, begin to pave another.
To once again, place our faith and trust in God, to get us back on track.
keeping our mind stayed on God and His principles will produce perfect peace and victory in your life.
"A Victory MindSet, is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible."
when we start putting God first in our lives, the things that seemed to be invisible and obscure, suddenly start becoming crystal clear.
We begin to see the hand of God working in our lives and the plan and direction of God fulfilled day by day.
Jeremiah 17:7 AMP
[Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is.
If you want to be blessed of God then we must put our full faith and trust in the Lord and all of our hope and confidence and serve him with our whole heart, understanding, soul, mind and strength.
That is, with everything that is within us.
Above all, it’s about increasing our control over our own attitude in the face of whatever comes our way.
We cannot always control our mood, and we cannot always control the thoughts that pop into our head, but we can choose how we handle them
