Matthew 26:41 Watch and Pray, जागा रहो र प्रार्थना गर
When the disciples ask Jesus about the end of the age he responds with several parables, three of which teach us to watch.

आउँदै नआउँने- Not Coming

Matthew 24:36-42 As in the days of Noah
Everyone was living as if the coming of judgment was not real- Watch!
Does not mention their sinfulness but rather their lack of faith in the coming judgment of God
How do we watch?
Know and believe that the coming of Christ is imminent- “your Lord doth come” (vs 42)
When we know it will be too late
We may know that it is coming but is it reflected in our daily lives?
This is how the apostles lived their life and commanded believers to do so as well

दिलो आउँने- Coming Late

Matthew 24:43-51 As the unaware servant
Been left to watch over the house while the master is gone, to protect from thieves and watch over the other servants- Watch!
Instead he takes advantage of the servants and steals the masters goods
How do we watch?
Know and believe that the coming of Christ is imminent- “the Son of man cometh” (vs 44)
They said, “the Lord will not come until later, we have time to enjoy ourselves with the world”
We must always be ready and alert
God has given us a job to do until he returns
We must be faithful and busy until his return

छिटो आउँने- Coming Soon

Matthew 25:1-13 As the unprepared virgins
The virgins were in the right place waiting for the bridegroom but were not physically prepared for his coming- Watch!
How do we watch?
Know and believe that the coming of Christ is imminent- “the Son of man cometh” (vs 13)
We must always be prepared for his tarrying
We do not want to be found foolish on the day Jesus’ returns
We cannot borrow the faith and righteousness of another
Christ’s Imminent Return and Prayer
Matthew 26:37-44 Jesus gives the same instructions to Peter, James and John. Here we can see the connection with prayer and the hour at hand
A Prayer of Sorrow- understanding the weight of the time at hand
शोकको प्रार्थना- अहिल्यैको भारी समय बुझ्ने
We learn from the days of Noah, we must be aware of God’s coming judgment
A Prayer of Surrender- understanding the will of the father
समर्पणको प्रार्थना- पिताको इच्छा बुझ्ने
We learn from the unaware servant, we must be aware of God’s work he has given to us while he is away
A Prayer of Supplication- understanding the weakness of the flesh
विन्तीको प्रार्थना- शरीरको दुर्बलता बुझ्ने
We learn from the unprepared virgins, we must be aware of the weakness of the flesh and the need of preparation to remain until he comes
