A Successful mission
V 10 The Apostles came back from going out preaching the gospel
healing the sick
casting out demons
they were provided by the Holy Spirit for everything that was needed for the mission to be successful
they were exited about what God had done for them and though them
Jesus knew they needed a little rest after their mission
so they got into a boat and crossed to the other side
V 11 but the crowd seeing where they were going ran around the perimeter
and they were there before Jesus was
and when all of the people get there at their R+R there is abut 15,000 people
so much for a relaxing getaway
Jesus all day has preached and cast out demons
and healed people
now the Apostles are ready for some rest
they approach Jesus and
V 12
Send them away!!
But Jesus is wanting them to do a impossible task

V 13 These men are overwhelmed at the amount of people
they are tired
now Jesus says to them you feed them
Impossible we only have 5 biscuits and 2 sardines
Remember these men just came from a mission where they could do the supernatural
everything needed for the mission was provided by God
What did Jesus want these men to do?
another supernatural act
Feed all the people
but they are very much like us Impossible
they might perhaps be thinking it was also impossible for Jesus
V 14 100 groups of 50 for just the men
200 if there are as many women
300 if there is on child per man
overwhelming but organized
V 15
V 16 Jesus took the bread and fish and thanked the Father for this meal
each disciple then came to Jesus with his basket and Jesus filled it
did they empty the basket and come back?
or did the basket never empty once it was full?
V 18 they were satisfied
this was not any ordinary bread
this was bread baked in the ovens of heaven
the fish was broiled to perfection over celestial charcoal brickets
coated with a heavenly seasoning
this was the best meal these people ever had
the people were satisfied
nobody went away hungry
I can’t wait for the marriage supper of the Lamb
but that is in the future
but if you are a christian you have already partaken id the bread of life
which is Jesus Himself
this bread that came from Heaven to completely satisfy those who put their trust in Him
To change us into a new creation
to give eternal life to those who are given this bread of life
Jesus wanted these men by faith accomplish the mission
but their
desire was for them to go away
they need to be fed but not by me
they are hungry but there is nothing I can do
Jesus says you feed them
If God is putting a mission on you
the way has been provided
if God gives you a mission
everything that is needed is acquired by faith
you start with what you have ...
another point i want to look at is
Who is Your Adonai?
Who is Your Adonai?
who is your slave master?
who is your boss
these men where tired
they needed a rest
all day they have been with these people who followed them to..
and now Jesus is going to feed all these people
set them in groups
be a waiter to them
and they obeyed with out question
there are self described followers of Jesus
and there are people who Jesus is their slave master
Boss
Are we like these apostles and even in out exhaustion say yes Jesus?
I will help serve 10000 people some supper
are you looking out for number 1
or are in tune with the good works that God has set before us to do
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
when we are saved we Jesus becomes our Lord
we acknowledge Him as Lord
we make Jesus our boss
and our mindset is on Jesus not on ourselves anymore
If Jesus is not your slave master (Adonai) then I would wonder if Jesus is your savior
these works God has put before us are for us to obey and do
and Like the disciples and the basket they had to take home
we also will be blessed
