Hello's to all of you in the name of Jesus Christ, Here is our today's message which is known to every one of us, at least once an year we remind on the Good Friday, but today's Special is that we go little deep in to this verse.
Luke 23:43 Jesus said to him, "I can guarantee this truth: Today you will be with me in Paradise."
1.
Both the thief's on the cross abuse/insulted Jesus
Matt 27:44 "Even the criminals crucified with him were insulting him the same way."
Mark 15:32 "Even those who were crucified with him were insulting him."
This is the biblical evidence of both the thief's on the cross insulted Jesus Christ, and it means none of them accepted Jesus Christ until the First Word on the cross was spoken by Jesus Christ.
2.Repentance : I don't know what brought the change to the Second thief on the cross, he strongly opposed with the first thief.
Here the thief repented himself that's why he deny with the other thief.
Luke 23:40-41 But the other criminal scolded him: "Don't you fear God at all? Can't you see that you're condemned in the same way that he is?
Our punishment is fair.
We're getting what we deserve.
But this man hasn't done anything wrong."
What a great change to the second thief, really wonderful, I am sure that this thief don't know what kind of a gift he is getting for his Repentance .
3.Acceptance : Repentance is different and Acceptance is different but they are of same tree.
any one can't accept their mistake without their repentance.
if two person's has a fight , first first was wrong and second person was right.
if the first person feels that he did a mistake it does not mean that he accepted his mistake , it means he repented himself that he did a mistake , if he goes to the second person and tells "sorry" it means he repented and accepted his mistake.
Here also the second thief earlier repented himself according to the conversation with the first thief.
Now he accepted Jesus as the righteous person, son of God, that's why he said Jesus to remember him in his Kingdom.
Luke 23:42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you enter your kingdom."
4.Gift : when we speak/hear the 7 words on the cross 1st word forgiveness, 2nd word forgiveness, 3rd word responsibility ... and so on but i feel the second word speaks about GIFT.
Yes if you repent and accept Jesus you will be blessed(gift).
One more interesting fact is " This thief is the ONE AND ONLY PERSON IN THE BIBLE to be recommended to PARADISE.
no other person is RECOMMENDED to paradise in the bible by Jesus Christ.
Luke 23:43 Jesus said to him, "I can guarantee this truth: Today you will be with me in Paradise."
SINNER->REPENTED ACCEPTANCE of JESUS=HEAVENLY GIFT.
ONE AND ONLY PERSON IN THE BIBLE to be recommended to PARADISE.
My dear friends please repent and accept Jesus right now and be blessed.
Amen.
