Challenges of Finding Strength
Solutions to Overcome Challenges

Challenges of Finding Strength in God’s Promises

1. Presence of Fear and Anxiety

Isaiah 41:10 ESV
fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Difficult if not impossible to walk by faith while cemented in fear
Despite this assurance, we often allow fear to overpower our faith, preventing us from fully embracing His promises.
Overcoming fear and trusting in God's strength requires a deliberate, conscientious effort to surrender our anxieties and place our faith in Him.

2. Limited understanding of His Plans

Proverbs 3:5–6 ESV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
God's ways are higher than ours, and His plans may not always align with our expectations.
This can make it challenging to trust in His promises, as we may question why certain things are happening in our lives.
This mindset is not lost in scriptures:
Job
Job 3:11 ESV
“Why did I not die at birth, come out from the womb and expire?
Habakkuk
Habakkuk 1:3 ESV
Why do you make me see iniquity, and why do you idly look at wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; strife and contention arise.
David
Psalm 13:1 ESV
How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
However, by surrendering our understanding to Him and submitting to His will, we can find strength in knowing that He is leading us towards a greater purpose.

3. Prolonged Seasons of Waiting

Waiting can be a testing time for our faith, as we may grow weary and doubt whether God will fulfill His promises.
This is one of the reasons why there’s numerous De-conversions in Christianity
Psalm 27:14 ESV
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

Solutions to Overcome Challenges

Psalm 119:106 ESV
I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules.
Not CNN, Fox News, Dr. Phil, Jordan Peterson, Oprah, The View, or whatever morning tv or radio show you listen to regularly
By consistently reading and meditating on the scriptures, we gain a deeper understanding of God's promises and their relevance to our lives.
This allows us to align our thoughts and actions with His promises, finding strength in His truth.

2. Cultivate an Attitude of Trust and Surrender

Proverbs 3:5–6 ESV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
By surrendering our doubts and fears to God and leaning on His understanding rather than our own, we open ourselves up to His guidance and provision.
This trust enables us to experience the strength and fulfillment of His promises.

Surround Yourself with a Community of Believers

Hebrews 10:24–25 ESV
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
In times of doubt, having fellow believers who can remind us of God's faithfulness and share their own testimonies of His promises can be incredibly uplifting.
Together, we can support and encourage each other to find strength in God's promises.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, finding strength in God's promises may be difficult, but it is not impossible. By immersing ourselves in His Word, cultivating trust and surrender, and surrounding ourselves with a community of believers, we can overcome doubt and experience the unwavering strength and fulfillment that comes from embracing God's promises.
Let us hold fast to these solutions, rooted in scripture, and find the courage to anchor our lives in the unchanging truth of God's Word.
