Worship - Thanksgiving

Fascinating thing in the Gospels… Jesus is fully God and Fully human. sounds like a contradiction until you realize that God is Spirit. Man is flesh, and Spirit, and Jesus set aside his devine rights and put his into the flesh of a human.
Jesus does something you would not expect God to do. He thanks His God (the father). Another member of the trinitarian God head all fully unified and being.
But it’s like he was thanking himself at all. . Each member of the godhead and they for eternity have shown love and honor to one another. Thanksgiving is a part of that. Especially as Jesus has set aside his divine rights and privileges and become limited in human form. He is now righteously behaving as an example for all of us to follow.
Matthew 11:25–26 ESV
At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.
Jesus - ‌acknowledges God’s sovereignty in revealing His truths to the humble. Are we grateful for the wisdom God is teaching us? Gratitude can lead to humility and a recognition of our dependence on God. That it is not great learning or University degreees, that make one wise, but listening like a CHild to our father.
Matthew 15:36 ESV
he took the seven loaves and the fish, and having given thanks he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.
Jesus did this is before feeding the multitude who had no food. Are we willing to offer thanks for what we have, even when it appears to not be enough?
Luke 22:17–18 ESV
And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”
Communion - how Jesus thanked God for the bread and the cup. Knowing what it represented to him personally of the sacrifice about to come, yet he thanked God for he knew that it would redeem mankind and that he would once again come to earth, and drink it again.
John 11:41–43 ESV
So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.” When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.”
Jesus is going to pray for a huge miracle, designed to reach the heart of the Jews that they may know that He was the Messiah. But note that while he was thanking god for something that was always true in their relationship, he was still greatful and aware that he was teaching others at the same time. Showing the closeness of relationship. Intimacy with God.
Gratitude Leads to a Deeper Relationship with God (

Thanks giving: America was founded on Freedom of religion
Yet among our mainstream future the hatred of God, has taken hold and they want America to be "Free FROM religion" While they become the new clergy of a new humanist religion powered by demonic ideas.

TicTok - A new viral trend on China-owned social media platform TikTok includes largely younger people praising and agreeing with notorious terrorist Osama bin Laden‘s “Letter to America.” The letter, which is filled with anti-Western and anti-Semitic language, is a justification from bin Laden for the 9/11 attacks, which killed roughly 3,000 Americans in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. “Over the past 24 hours, thousands of TikToks (at least) have been posted where people share how they just read Bin Laden’s infamous ‘Letter to America,’ in which he explained why he attacked the United States,” journalist Yashar Ali posted to X. “Many of them say that reading the letter has opened their eyes, and they’ll never see geopolitical matters the same way again. … [and many] say it has made them reevaluate their perspective on how what is often labeled as terrorism can be a legitimate form of resistance to a hostile power.”
1 Timothy 2:1–2 ESV

4 Keys to hearing God’s voice.

We have covered allot of ground. Hard to summaries it quickly effectively. we are on the last for 4 keys.
James 1:25 NASB95
But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.
Not having become a forgetful hearer… but an effectual doer.

Summary: 4 keys

We must KNOW the TRUTH and know we are speaking what God is leading us to share. For that reason, we must Hear Gods Voice!
John 10:27 ESV
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
Overview of 4 keys
What are the 4 keys?
Quiet yourself down - STILLNESS
Fixing your eyes on Jesus - VISION
tuning to spontaneity - SPONTANEITY
and writing - 2-way JOURNALING
If someone asks you “how do you hear God’s voice” say this:
Repeat after me:
“hearing Gods voice is as simple as,
quieting yourself down,
fixing your eyes on Jesus,
tuning to spontaneity,
and writing.
4 keys in one simple sentence!
This approach is Biblical.
Habakkuk did it Chapter 2
Habakkuk 2:1–2 ESV
I will take my stand at my watchpost and station myself on the tower, and look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint. And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.
Moses did it.
David did it in Psalms
John the revelator does it.
Every Book of the bible was written this way.

Summary: Spiritual Intimacy

God desires it. You will crave it once you get started. Draw close to him, he will draw close to you.
Spend the first part of the day with God. God has always wanted this for his people. Walking with Jesus in the Cool of the Morning every day.Genesis 3:8.
Lets be like young David - a man whose heart was after God. He spent time with God pouring out his troubles and his Praise for God and journaling it out and putting it to music. Jesus, too patterned this desire to get away and be alone with God.

Summary Key1: Stillness- Meditation not study (full heart involved)

Thoughts from my mind are analytical (Study)
Thoughts from my heart or the Spirit are spontaneous
Much study (analytical reasoning) is a weary task! Ecc 12:12.
But biblical Meditation is better than STUDY. Be diligent to your best to present yourself to GOD. (2 Tim 2:15) For biblical mediation is about listening to God.

The NT word sometimes translated “study” is σπουδάζω spoudazō be zealous; be eager

Meditation is a zealous eager attitude from Heart, not boring STUDY! Not building up on intellectual knowledge that causes pride.

The OT word for Meditiation (הָגָה hâgâh, haw-gaw´) means:

to murmur (in pleasure or anger) heart involved. (related to the sound of the harp) Psa 49:3.
to ponder / imagine = engage the right side of your brain. with vision.
mediate - a bit of circular reasoning there…
mourn - heart engaged in this for sure.
Moaning, or sighing” (hāghīgh) Spirit groans for us with meaning to deep for words. Psalm 5:1-2 & Rom 8:26.
/ mutter / babble = this could be considered as speaking in tongues in your prayer - you can do this over anything that you are asking God. let the H.S. ask the questions for you!
“roar” - this gets pretty dynamic! get so passionate you get to shouting cheering and victory roars!
Inspiration = meaning “breathed forth by God” - How the scriptures came to us. 2 Tim 3:16.
Meditation then is were you gain understanding from God directly. He breathes it into you through the spirit(breath) of God the H.S.
It is in Meditation that you will recognize the spontaneous flow of thoughts. we devided thought sout to

How to Quiet yourself Down

Psalm 62:5 ESV
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.
Remove OUTER NOISE
remove distractions (phone etc..)
Remove tension by sitting comfortably (1 Chr 17:16)
Tap into the Quietness in the early morning/evening.
Remove INNER NOISE
Using music to help settle and focus 2 Kings 3
Using Pictures and Visioning to Focus on the Lord. Psalm23.

Problems in quieting my Mind:

Thoughts of things pop up. So write them down so you won’t forget them and release the worry on you mind. (first level of divine creativity… allowing God to give you reminders).
Thoughts of Sin in my life. Confess the Sins. (truly, repent, and then know you are forgiven. forgive yourself. If this is a repeated sin, you are still forgiven, but take note to ensure you are taking the necessary steps to truly remove it - you cannot allow yourself to play with this sin) Gal 3:27. Envision that you are clothed in Christs robes of righteousness.
Mind Flitting about. Switch your mind form reason to spontaneous flow. Focus on a vision of Jesus like David did (examples: Psalm 23, Psalm 36:5–6) Quiet meditative devotion song, and then sing in tongues it will quite your heart. It is ok to use your mind to picture the Lord and mediate and imagine a comfortable bible scene helps move you mind to the right side of your brain so you can catch the spontaneous flow of thoughts from God. Smile… so you help your body relax into the process of being quiet.
Can’t Get in touch with your heart. Begin singing a worship or praise song that draws you into the Spirit. For me this is Rest On Us by Maverick City, “your al l I want” Fresh Wind by Hillsong Worship.
Need additional time to fellowship with God. realize that when you are doing automatic activities. bathing, exercising, routine jobs, driving) open your heart to hear from God.

Techniques to being still before God

1. Cease striving. Let go. relax Ps 46:10
Psalm 46:10 NASB95
“Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
TRYING TO HARD - can be a problem. If you think about it too much it can make it harder. (Like Bowling). the harder I tried the worse I got.
2. Not doing, but BEING (you can’t DO stillness) Ken you got to learn to rock and roll. i wanted to control everything.
3. Living in the present tense. Let go worry. Focus on the now. It is all there is. the Future is imagination, Past is a memory.
4. The Key emotion is LOVE. FAITH HOPE and Love but he greatest of these is LOVE. without love we are just annoying noise
5. It Cannot be forced or hurried. Allow it to happen. You cant rush yourself and demand yourself into the presence of God. like trying to force yourself to going to bed early for an ealy flight. You know you have got to get the extra rest so you try to hard to go to sleep and stay up half the night. Anyone having problems going to sleep? These techniques will help. try different things, pray in tongues. better than counting sheep.
6. In your stillness God takes over and an active flow wells up within you you are able to “hear” that still small voice.
7. The Bible calls this “being in the spirit” (Rev.1:10)

Summary Key2: Recognize God’s voice as a spontaneous flow of thoughts.

recognize the Holy spirit thought you have.
1. are not our own thoughts that are analytical with chains of reasoning. Bu they can sound like our thoughts and style. (like you can tell the difference in writing style between bible books written through John or Paul)
2. are often light and gentle and can be interrupted by any effort of our own
3. are often be wiser, more loving than my own thoughts
4. an cause a positive reaction in our being ; excitement, conviction, faith, live purpose, awe, peace, etc…
5. when embraced, they a carry with them a fullness of strength to carry them out and joy in doing so.
6. as we train ourselves to tune to this flow of the holy spirit is becomes easier to hear God. Practice diligently for 3 months! own it an make it natural if you focus your attention on it to master it.
In FAITH we believe we can hear God’s voice His word is true.Allow God to speak to us through Vision
Why? A:It’s Biblical
We need to t train our minds to be receptive to the Holy spirit influences in the visions.

Summary: Remove idols from your heart

Your heart that has an Idol above God, can help deceive you when God speaks to you. Repent and ask god to get rid of this.
What if we have an Idol in our Heart and we seek the Lord for guidance? Eze 14:4. & Balaam Num 22.

Summary Key3: Look for Vision from God

This is how the bible tells us to do it.

Biblical prophets got words from God through Vision & Dreams. Num 12:6. “if there is a prophet among you, the LORD will make Himself known to them in a vision and speak to them in dreams!
Vision is the way Jesus did it. John 5:19 - he only did what he SAW his father doing.

Early Church confirms vision are common place:

Peter - sees a vision of a cloth with animals in it.
Steven sees a vision of Jesus in Heaven. - he is being carried along by the Holy spirit’s summary of Israel’s history leading up to Jesus. Acts 7:55-56.
Paul sees a vision of a man from Macedonia - telling him to come. Acts 16:9. and share the Gospel.
John in the spirit on the Lords day on the the island of Patmos - 7 Visions fill the entire book!
Paul talks of several cases were Christians saw things in the spirit, or perhaps even in the body… the vision was so clear apparently. He said he could boast about others in that way but it would do no good. 2 Corinthians 12:1–5
Happened so often that Peter sees an angle and ASSUMES it is a vision, Acts 12:7–9

Ways Visions can come

Spontaneous vision in your mind Acts 7:55-56.
Spontaneous vision while in prayer (Psalm 23:1-6)
Seeing a vision outside of yourself (II Kings 6:17)
Vision while in a trance (Acts 10:10-23)
Vision in the night (dreams?) (Acts 16:9-10)
God counsels us through our dreams at night (Psalm 16:7).

Vision is transformational

we see it in all those bible events. the Vision changed things drastically. because they paid attention to what god was say through the vision.
If our heart is bound in anger, bitterness, or UN-forgiveness and ask God how he see the situation and look with our heart at Jesus. what will we see? Will we Jesus holding onto the bitterness? no we will see his love and forgiveness, and we will be undone, our own hollow and sinful approach will be laid bare, and we will be transformed in our thoughts, and we can then apply that to our will and choose to also forgive like Jesus.

RU Waiting for God to take control?

Do you want God to just HIT you with a vision?
Like he did with Saul before he was Paul on the way to Damascus.
Well that is transformational but it is not a typical approach in the Bible
Instead The bible more often shows a partnership were we listen and obey and God acts.
We draw close and he draws close to us.
Do you speak in tongues?
Do you wait to speak in toungues till go zaps you or do you start on your own? do you have to take the initiative to start?
The Theology of a Miracle.
Example: Peter and the miracle of walking on the water. Did Jesus go pick him up and put Him on the water? or did Peter have to step out and then God sustained him?
There is a part we do and a part God does. he wants willing participant.
The Theology of a Miracle: This is the TYPICAL pattern with God and all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We listen to God for Guidance and prompting, we then ACT in accordance with His will, and then HE does the WORK of the miracle.
We place a faith demand on God, and he delivers. ( if not perhaps we were moving in presumption - so make sure your walking faith for something God desires)
Same with vision!
You must give God control. Do not expect him to take control. Give him permission. Draw close to him, give him your imagination and let him give you vision. You can prime the pump to visualize Jesus and begin to ask for the vision to begin.

The use of Imagination and vision Important

It is part of meditating on God’s word, and directing our hearts toward God. not just our intellect
We are to eagerly desire the greater gifts like Prophesy and Prophesy is very largely visionary (that why they were called seers people who can see.)
If the devil can put thought s and image in our brain, and be effective, how much more can God be if we give God the inner screen of our imagination.
BE WILLING, and GIVE PERMISSION, give GOD CONTROL of your imagination.

Some Good Advice on Vision

Some Good Advice on Vision
Set your goal: Be willing to get vision ASK GOD
Look for vision (Hab 2:1-2, Rev 4:1-2, “I looked and behold a Door standing open in heaven”)
Stay with the vision till is stops flowing (Dan 4:10-13; Dan 7:2; Dan 7:9 In his head dreams/visions as he Lay in his bed; Daniel continues to look and does not interrupt the vision; Dan 7:13; Dan 8:2); Rev 4:2 v1 John keeps looking, then in v2 he is in the spirit.
Visions from God are real, even if just in our minds (1 Kings 3:5-15; Dan 4:4-14; Dan 7:1-16; Matt 1:20; Matt 2:12-22) .
Present the eyes of our hearts to God. A natural way to present our imagination to God is to Imagine being part of enter a bible story and allow God to move in it as he wills. Don’t control it present it to God.
Pray to the Lord and ASK him to give you prophetic vision. (it is god’s will for us so we know he will give us what we ask 1 John 5:14-15, Acts 2:17 )
Tell you BRAIN to Tell our self to believe. I believe. God help my unbelief.

Key4: Journal your prayers and God’s answers.

Biblical Books demonstrate Journaling

Biblical Books demonstrate Journaling:
Psalms
Revelation
Prophets
Most of your bible!
100’s of chapters…
You think journaling is important?
you think this is Christian?
This is for all of us.

Submit to spiritual advisers/Discipleship

When you journal you can show it easily others:
Spiritual Counselors provide an Umbrella of Protection
Hebrews 13:17 ESV
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Obey(Greek: Peitho – allow yourself to be persuaded/convinced by
What to submit
I submit all major decisions
I submit my early journaling
I submit anything I’m unsure about
Proverbs 11:14 ESV
Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.
What do I look for in a spiritual Counselor?
A close friend, who knows about hearing God’s voice
has a solid biblical orientation
can sense the voice of the Spirit of God in their heart
is willing to sacrifice for those they are responsible for
receives counsel.
is ahead of me in the area.
“Submission is an openness to the Spirit-led counsel and correction of several others, while keeping a sense of personal responsibility for our own discernment of God's voice within us.”

Ways in which journaling is extremely helpful in your prayer life:

Ways in which journaling is extremely helpful in your prayer life:
Frees you to write in faith, knowing you can test it later.
Enables you to receive whole pages, rather than single phrases.
Keeps your mind occupied and therefore out of the way
Helps you recall the message after a period of time
Soon, quickly, 1 day =1000 yrs. so you may need to hold on to a word and remember it for a while.
Helps you persevere during periods of waiting.

Practical Suggestions for Journaling

Practical Suggestions for Journaling
Journal when you are alert and ready. Ask God what is the best time. let him tell you. Try it. dialog the outcome in a journal.
Write in a spiral-bound notebook, type, or record your voice.
It’s OK to miss. but avoid doubt - confirm it with your trusted spiritual advisors. If you miss it, fine. keep trying. grow this way.
Keep your journal secluded, and use codes when necessary.
Private, only read entries they specifically share with you.
Grammar and spelling are not critical when journaling.
Date all entries (like a prophet: “In the 3rd year of the tyrannical reign of Biden the Presidential poser.” joke.)
Include your communion with God, dreams, visions, interpretations, etc.
God will cause your journal to naturally focus on faith, hope, and love (I Corinthians 13:13). be comfortable with that!
Have a good knowledge of the Bible as you journal so that God can draw upon that knowledge.
When you begin to journal, write down the question you have. This will facilitate getting a response.
As you are learning, you may want to journal daily
Skip a line when you move from God speaking to you speaking, and vice versa.
Re-read your last entry before you begin your next entry.
Review entire journal when notebook is full and write a brief summary.
Journal in the area God has given you authority and responsibility.
WARNING: Restrict your journaling to the categories found in 1 Corinthians 14:3 (Prophecy comes for = Edification, Exhortation, Comfort). Avoid predictive guidance unless you are recognized in the office of a prophet.
Easy way to get messed up if you try to get dates. journaling about who you should marry or what to invest in. You can try it but is has not worked out well for Mark or others. God can give you this, but when you seek after it it can be messed up by your motives.

Paradigm for Discovering Truth

How should we get predictive guidance when we need it?
Example: “Should I move to Montana?”
Examine a predictive guidance question in the alignment of sources of wisdom to test the truth.
All wisdom is undergirded with a Sound and Solid knowledge of the Bible (Logos)
Illuminated Scriptures (Rhema word correctly applied)
Thoughts (Anointed reasoning in the Spirit)
Witness in Love (peace/check)
Counsel (Spiritual Advisors, Spouse + )
Fruit of Life (Practical wisdom of the life situation ex: “is there a job there?” - budget, safety, room, etc…
Inner Voice (holy spirit in us)
God may speak to you in other ways as well as Nature, Art, Circumstances, Providence, etc..)
Do we need all to align? A unanimous vote from all is preferred, and we should ask God about discrepancies and be very careful if we are getting conflicting answers.
Note: some question might require we give some sources of wisdom greater weight than others.

The Fine-tuning Dial

What happens if you have a bock and are not getting anything?
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could fine-tune your ears and eyes to better sense God more accurately with less effort?
The whole bible is full of this fine tuning advice.
Mark Virkler noticed that the Tabernacle is arranged in such a way as to guild you through being better able to hear gods voice.
Hebrews 8:5 ESV
They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, “See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain.”
Entering through the gate of the tabernacle - Gate of Salvation and Praise Worship
am I saved?
OUTER COURT (natural light - outer being)
Altar - Present our bodies to be a living sacrifice.
have I presented myself as a living sacrifice, giving up my will for his will ?
Laver - wash basin, (wash with the reading of God’s word)
Have I been reading God’s word?
INNER COURT (illumination lamps - inner being)
Table of Showbread - priests eat together around that table am I in right relationship with other Christians.
am I living in right relationship with others in the body of Christ?
lampstands - The holy spirit illumination
Have I allowed the Holy spirit to illuminate my understanding of God’s word.
Altar of incense - morning and evening rekindled the incense - this is the prayers, and
Have I been in prayer and worship with thanksgiving?
HOLY HOLIES (Shakina glory God’s light)
Ark - At Jesus death the barrier operating us form the Holy of holies was rent signifying we can come before God. Mercy seat - forgiveness, and right relationship with God.
AM I in right relatiosnhip with God or must I confess? am I focused on the Lord fully?
Another verse that is powerful for fine-tuning is:
Heb 10: 19-22
Hebrews 10:19–22 ESV
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
How can I get better reception?
Sincere heart
A Full Assurance of Faith
Inner heart sprinkled clean from an evil conscience
Bodies washed with pure water (Ephesians 5:26)

There may be conditions!

Don’t get discouraged if you get something that does not happen, you may have to check with God and the Bible to see if there are conditions for God’s work to manifest.
Principle: All prophecy is conditional, based on man’s response Eze 33:13-16; Jer 18:7-10
Ezekiel 33:13–16 ESV
Though I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, yet if he trusts in his righteousness and does injustice, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered, but in his injustice that he has done he shall die. Again, though I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ yet if he turns from his sin and does what is just and right, if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has taken by robbery, and walks in the statutes of life, not doing injustice, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the sins that he has committed shall be remembered against him. He has done what is just and right; he shall surely live.
What is for the righteous that trust in God?
Life
What is for the one who trust in His righteousness
All his righteous deeds will be forgotten.
Jeremiah 18:7–10 ESV
If at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom, that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it, and if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I intended to do to it. And if at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build and plant it, and if it does evil in my sight, not listening to my voice, then I will relent of the good that I had intended to do to it.
Some of god’s covenants with us are one-sided and eternal others are conditional.
Noah Covenant - no longer flood the earth
Abrahamic Covenant - Land to the Nation of Israel
Mosaic Covenant - Blessings on Israel
Davidic Covenant - Have a descendant on Throne forever.
New Covenant - Blood and sacrifice of the lamb of God wash us clean and allow us eternal life with Him.
But promises many are conditional and if we are not keeping up our side then there is no grantee that God is keeping up his side.
Do you want to walk in the blessings and favor of God?
Then you need to obey and walk closely with him.

It can take 1 full year to internalize a new teaching.

Perhaps 3 months if you get tra
