Introduction:
We always like to see the bad guys get what’s coming to them. It seems like they always are getting away with things and sneaking around. Praise the Lord, He sees all things. Tonight as we near the end of our study in the Book of Jude, we learn of their fate and the emptiness that these false teachers have.
Let’s turn and look at what Jude had to say.
14 It was also about these that Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones,
15 to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”
16 These are grumblers, malcontents, following their own sinful desires; they are loud-mouthed boasters, showing favoritism to gain advantage.
17 But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.
18 They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.”
19 It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit.

They flatter people for personal gain
They scoff
They pursue ungodly passions
Reminiscent of Korah’s rebellion in Numbers 16.
8 And Moses said to Korah, “Hear now, you sons of Levi:
9 is it too small a thing for you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself, to do service in the tabernacle of the Lord and to stand before the congregation to minister to them,
10 and that he has brought you near him, and all your brothers the sons of Levi with you? And would you seek the priesthood also?
11 Therefore it is against the Lord that you and all your company have gathered together. What is Aaron that you grumble against him?”
When we grumble we are often grumbling against the Lord

They are arrogant and boastful
Conclusion:
Holiness requires that we consider our ways. We need to realize that we stand in front of a holy God living out our lives. God demands that we reverence Him and realize that He is not like us.
If we are in a position of leadership, whether it is leading our kids, our spouse, our employees, or our church, we need to remember that God requires that we lead with integrity. Lead people to Jesus, but remember that you can never lead people where you have not been before.
The best thing that you and I can do is to lead people to Jesus and live there ourselves. Be a godly person. Live according to His ways and God will bless your life. He will bless your influence. You will find that He is good. He is kind. He is loving.
But if you dare to stand against the Lord and defy Him, you will find that He is holy, righteous, and full of justice. You will learn that we deserve death. We deserve hell. We deserve His wrath.
Prayer
We thank you Jesus that you love us and care for us. Thank you that you died for our sins. Help us to trust you and lead others to you.
