Introduction

Once upon a time, a little boy wanted to find God, so he decided to pack his sandwich and juice in his lunch box to see him. During his journey, he meets an old lady, and it seems as if she is hungry. So the little boy sat by her and shared his sandwich with her. She smiled at him. And the little boy thought she had a beautiful smile, and he didn't want to let that pretty smile disappear. He also shared his juice with her. They sat together without talking. It was getting dark, and the boy realized he had to go home. He took a few steps, then ran back to the woman and gave her a big hug. And the woman gave him a big smile. When the boy got home, his mom was surprised to see her son with a big smile on his face. She asked him why he was so happy. He told her that he met God. He told his mom he didn't know God would be so Old. Also, when the old lady got home, her children saw a peaceful expression on her face. And they asked her why she looked so relaxed. She told them she met God and didn't know God would be so little.
This story is similar to Luke 19:1-10. What happens to those who seek the Lord?
He Sees them (Luke 19:1–5 )
Zacchaeus's story parallels the story of the Blind man mentioned in Luke 18:32-43). Two of these men are imperfect. One cannot see; the other is short (tax collector). In the standard of the Jewish System, they are considered the outsider. The blind man wanted to see Jesus, so he called him out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me." And he kept crying out, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" Jesus stopped and commanded that he be brought to him. Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" Lord, he said, "I want to see." Jesus told him, "Receive your sight; your faith has saved you." Just like Jesus heard this guy calling his name, he also saw Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus was rich (powerful guy), a tax collector, short, and he wanted to see Jesus. But his height won't let him see Jesus, so he climbs onto a tree, just like the blind man called the name of Jesus he heard him. Jesus saw Zacchaeus and told him to come down because it was necessary for Jesus to stay at his house. How did Jesus know this guy name? Well, when we look at John 10:3 “The gatekeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.” Jesus is a good shepherd. That’s why he knows Zacchaesus’ s name.
These two men are imperfect, but they do not let their imperfect stop them from seeking out to the Lord.
Most of the time, imperfect people want to be perfect. The emptiness, the desire, and the guilt are the root of imperfection. They seek pleasure to fill their empty hearts, fulfill their passion, and make them feel not guilty. As mentioned in Matthew 7:7, It says, "Seek and you will find." If you see the Lord, you will find him.
7560 We please God most, not by frantically trying to make ourselves good, but by throwing ourselves into his arms with all our imperfections, and believing that he understands everything and loves us still.

If we throw ourselves to God like Zacchaeus and the Blind man, he will see us and hear our needs.
What happens to those who seek the Lord?
2. He transform them (Luke 19:6-8)
Zacchaeus conforms Jesus with Joy. He welcomed him. He was ready to accept Jesus and throw away his old life. 2 Corinthians 5:16–17“From now on, then, we do not know anyone from a worldly perspective. Even if we have known Christ from a worldly perspective, yet now we no longer know him in this way. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!
Therefore, Luke 19:8 “Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, “Look, I’ll give half of my possessions to the poor, Lord. And if I have extorted anything from anyone, I’ll pay back four times as much.””
Zacchaeus is fufiillng the great commands; He loves the Lord, so he was able to share his belonging to his neighbor. Love and repentance can be seen through his action.
Compare Zacchaeus to the rich man in( Matthew 19:16-30 )
The rich man in Matthew 19 (wants to gain an eternal life) but he did not want to throw away what he has.
Zacchaeus (the rich man is willing to give his money)— willing to throw his old life away.
And this is what Jaccheus, did… give half of his possession to the poor and if he has extorted anything from anyone, he will pay back four times as much.
When true believers follow Christ, their lives look different.
Many people want to change, but they cannot escape from their old habit and addictions. Seek the Lord, welcome him to your heart like Zacchaeus, and let him transform you.
What happens to those who seek the Lord?
3. He saves them( 9-10)
In Luke 18:42 (the Blind man recieve his sight because of his faith) His faith has saved him. The same language is apply to Zacchacus, but indirectly.
As we see earlier, Jesus said, “ it is necessary for me to stay at your house
here in verse 9, Jesus said, “Today salvation has come to this house....
why? Because he too is a son of Abraham.
Abraham is known as the father of the Faith.
Because he is too a son of Abraham- he partake the faith.
Because of his faith- he is save.
why is it necessary for the Lord to be at his house?
v 10. For the son of Man has come to seek and save the Lost.
and savlation comes to Zachaeous house becase he act right with God- his life has change.
and as we can see in Luke 15 Jesus talked about the parable of the lost sheep, lost coing, and Lost son,------ now we can see fully what it means when Jesus said he came to seek the lost.
as we are human beings, we must admit that we got nothing good in us. Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;”
however, through Christ, we are save.
Just like the Little boy try to find God and recieve Joy, If we seek the Lord with all our heart he will sees us, transform us, and save us. Most importantly, we will recieve a satasfiy feelings from his presense.
Do you want Christ come in to your house and tell you that SALVATION COME INTO THIS HOUSE?
Live right with God
To be right with God has often meant to be in trouble with men.
A. W. Tozer
WHen you seek the Lord you will gain enternal things, but will have to sacrifice temporary things.
