The Journey

We all can become faint of heart. Busy looking around to all that isn’t right with the world and our situation. It can become easy start to ponder questions as we find in Psalm 121:1 “I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help?”
Where does your help come from? My Help comes from the Lord!
Have you seen this hill (Problem) Am I the only seeing this?
Yet, miraculously no one has problems on Sunday
We begin to fixate on the mountains/problems in our lives.
We start out with God, full of zeal, then the night comes.
The Night: Represents the time for which our ability to see our surroundings becomes very difficult. Our vision becomes dull.
This is the time which be believe we have been left without defence and alone.
Mark 4:35–40 NKJV
35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” 36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” 39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
The disciples looking up to the problem which was upon them responded with fear.
Our Journey with Jesus can lead us into uncharted areas for which we have no natural vision.
When your situation becomes beyond your ability who/what do you turn to? Jesus
11450 Some people go back into the past and rake up all the troubles they ever had, and then they look into the future and anticipate that they will have still more trouble, and then they go reeling and staggering all through life.
Dwight L. Moody

What do you say to your hill?

When the question comes to your mind of where is your help coming from? (Your Mind) Our society would tell you that it’s the government or the job, relationship or another source.
Psalm 121:2 “My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.”
Have you made up your mind?
Do you see situations as Jesus does? Matthew 19:26
Matthew 19:26 NKJV
26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Or are you stuck with the disciples with the water rising in the boat and the waves are boisterous, while Jesus was in the Rear.
Where was Jesus sleeping?

Our Confidence

Psalm 121:3–4 NKJV
3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
Psalm 121:3 “3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.”
Mark 4:38 NKJV
38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
Mark 4:38 “38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?””
As with the disciples our confidence is in Christ (Who was in the boat…) We see a parallel between these two scriptures.
He was in the boat asleep, Yet His authority and Godhead were fully in charge of the situation.
Your situation may seem like all is lost. The disciples said unto Jesus with a sharp accusation in Mark 4:38
How would you respond?
The Lord is our Keeper Psalm 121:5 “5 The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand.”
Psalm 121:5–6 NKJV
5 The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night.
Having confidence of our response to our inward dialog and God gives permission for something new to build HOPE

Building

Do not look to your hope, but to Christ, the source of your hope.
Charles Spurgeon
Have you made up your mind about God in your situation?
Psalm 121:7–8 NKJV
7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. 8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.
Until, you become fully persuaded about the role God will play in your life and His position in your boat. You cannot build on an undecided foundation. Christ is called the Chief cornerstone. The firm foundation our choice of where to place Him will determine your outcome.
The magnitude of something built by us regardless how impressive it seems when attempting to place Christ on top will be crushed.
We cannot simply add Christ to our lives in attempt to try to be right. WE must first remove what we have built. If we think about this from Repentance we turn away from our old lifestyle. We leave this first foundation which leads to destruction building new on top of the Chief Cornerstone which is Christ.
