Adams Loss

Adam was created perfect
without a sin nature
Clothed in the righteousness of God
I and others believe that they were clothed in light
Lets go to Luke 9 29.
the clothing is white and gleaming
Jesus is letting through His Humanity the glory in Him
Peter confessed that he was the messiah
here Jesus is demonstrating this fact to them
Showing Peter and the others His Glory
Going back to Genesis
Genesis 3:6–7 LSB
Then the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, so she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate. And the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings.
Adam lost his clothing and was naked
they tried to make clothes out of foliage
Genesis 3:21 LSB
Then Yahweh God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and He clothed them.
and we have been wearing foliage and animal skins ever since
representing our fallen nature
representing our sin nature
Romans 5:18 (LSB)
So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men
Luke 9:29 LSB
And it happened that while He was praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing became white and gleaming.
Jesus here The sinless second Adam displaying His sinless nature
Jesus here Showing us what Adam lost in the fall

Moses

Moses represents the Levitical law.
he brought the children of Israel out of Egypt
Moses the man of God died
Deuteronomy 34:5–6 LSB
So Moses the servant of Yahweh died there in the land of Moab, according to the command of Yahweh. And He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor; but no man knows his burial place to this day.
God buried Moses
Jude 9 LSB
But Michael the archangel, when he, disputing with the devil, was arguing about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a blasphemous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
for reasons unknown Satan wanted moses body
but God protected it
because there will be a resurrection from the dead
Moses who died is now seen in his glorified body
V 31
1 Corinthians 15:50–54 LSB
Now I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the corruptible inherit the incorruptible. Behold, I tell you a mystery: we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. For this corruptible must put on the incorruptible, and this mortal must put on immortality. But when this corruptible puts on the incorruptible, and this mortal puts on immortality, then will come about the word that is written, “DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory.
Moses here represent those who died in Christ
who will be resurrected and receive our glorified bodies
our bodies will be kept safe by God until that glorious day
turn to Luke 16 19
The believer was met by angels at his death
the unbeliever buried and went to hell

Elijah

He represents the prophets
what do we know about Elijah’s death?
2 Kings 2:11 LSB
As they were going along and talking, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire, and it separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven.
50 men searched for 3 days to try to find the body of Elijah
But God took it He was snatched up in a chariot of fire
1 Thessalonians 4:15–18 LSB
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
those who are alive when the resurrection occurs will be snatched up we also wont be found
the bride of Christ will disappear in an instant
our bodies also will be glorified
as represented by Elijah

His Departure

V 31
They Moses Elijah and Jesus are talking about the death of Jesus
His departure from this life
the fulfilment of the mission of our savior
Christ dying for the sins of His people
The death that makes our resurrection possible
Because every one is born heading to hell
the wages of sin is death
Jesus took the penalty for sin for all who repent and put their trust in Him
call upon the name of the Lord and be saved
the sin of Adam has plagued all of human kind
the sin of human kind has plagued each and every one of us individually
the foliage and animal skins of Adam need to be replaced
V 29 Jesus clothes were white and gleaming
Revelation 19:7–8 (LSB)
“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.”
And it was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration Jesus is showing us who He is, God.
He is also showing us who we are in Christ
what we will eventually look like
all who repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved
1 John 3:2 LSB
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not been manifested as yet what we will be. We know that when He is manifested, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
