The Lamp

We are lamps of the Holy Spirit in our world - both individually and corporately.
Exodus 27:20-21
Exodus 27:20 "And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually. 21 In the tabernacle of meeting, outside the veil which is before the Testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening until morning before the LORD. It shall be a statute forever to their generations on behalf of the children of Israel.
· 2 Samuel 22:29 "For You are my lamp, O LORD; the LORD shall enlighten my darkness."
· The Holy place is a testimony to the Holy of Holies.
To be holy we must embrace the fire of God – Holy Spirit in our lives.
The Fire of Being Loved
· A relationship with God, knowing Him - this is eternal life – Revelation 2:7
Revelation 2:1-7
The desirable place is the garden of your life – the purpose of your garden is to be loved by God – to know His love – to know His presence – to know Him!
Ephesus – means desirable
Jesus holds the seven stars in His right hand – walks in the midst of the lampstands.
They know the works of a garden but have missed the purpose of the garden
Works – labor, patience, hate evil, tested true and false – persevered, had patience, labored
Left first love –
You forget God hates evil too,
Don’t miss the point of the garden – the garden is the place of knowing God – the place of being loved by God – your life!
Eat of the tree of life in the midst of Paradise.
The Fire of Loving
· Overcoming all fear of death. Love does whatever is necessary and thus it will physically manifest that love in the actions of our lives –
Revelation 2:10, 11
Revelation 2:8-11
Smyrna – means myrh (suffering - burial oil)
Jesus is the First and Last – was dead by came to life
The works are – tribulation, poverty, some who say they are Jews who are not
A true Jew is one who is circumcised of heart – Rom. 2:28, 29
Don’t fear any suffering
Tested ten days – like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah – Dan. 1:15
Faithful to death – receive crown of life
Sacrifices of love, not sacrifices of guilt or shame
Can’t be hurt by the second death
The Fire of Response
· An inward transformation of God's word in our hearts and His outward testimony in our lives. These are the fruit of responding to God's gifts of His Word and Spirit in and through our lives. - Revelation 2:17

Pergamos – means height or elevation - Whatever is above you is what you become – what or who are you submerged in?
Jesus has the sharp two-edged sword (the testimony of Word and Spirit)
Works – Where Satan’s throne is – Overcome all – Antipas (like the Father – against all)
Doctrine of Balaam - Commit sexual immorality - responds to personal needs
Hold the doctrine of Nicolaitans – responds to personal desires
Fight against them with the sword of His mouth
Hidden manna – a white stone with a new name that only the one who receive it knows
A heavenly testimony inside and out – a daily ‘what is it?’ and a growing testimony of change
The Fire of Giving Life
· Giving life to our world. We can bring light to any darkness and transform it into day. - Revelation 2:26-29
Revelation 2:18-29
Thyatira – means sacrifice – labor of love – like perfume
Jesus has eyes of fire and feet like fine brass
Works – love, service, faith, patience
Allow Jezebel to teach God’s servants to commit sexual immorality and earth things sacrificed to idols – a spirit of control to get instead of true authority to give life to others
Cast into a sick bed – not givers of life to others
Great tribulation
Hold fast – be connected to life to be able to give life to others
Power over the nations – rule with a rod of iron, break in pieces the vessels of clay
Given the morning star
The Fire of Being
· Walking in the works prepared for us in Christ. We are sent ones; thus, angels work with us to reveal the goodness of our Father through our lives as part of the testimony of His Son. - Revelation 3:5, 6
Revelation 3:1-6
Sardis - means prince of joy
Jesus has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars
Works – a name that you are alive, but you are dead (needs resurrection life)
Be watchful – be alive to be who your are in Christ
Strengthen the things which remain
They are ready to die – their works are not perfect
Watch or I come as a theif
Clothed in white garments – name not blotted out of the Book of Life
Confessed before God the Father and confessed before His angels
Sent as sons and daughters of God to be the life of Christ to their world
The Fire of Community
· Living as a pillar of God's presence in the earth that loves and lives for God and His family. - Revelation 3:12, 13
Revelation 3:7-13
Philadelphia – means brotherly love
Jesus is holy, true, has the key of David, opens doors that can’t be shut and opens doors that can’t be opened
Works – a little strength, kept Jesus’ word, haven’t denied Jesus’ name
Those who are not the community will come and bow before your feet and
Know that I have loved you – Jn. 13:34, 35
You kept My command to persevere - Jesus new commandment was that we love one another even as He has loved us – Jn. 13:34, 35
Make you a pillar in the temple of God - a dwelling place of Holy Spirit – a member of the body of Christ
Write on him the name of God – the name of the New Jerusalem which comes down out of heaven – write on him Christ’s new name
The Fire of Purpose and Destiny – Partnership with Jesus as the Body of Christ
· To be consumed with His zeal for His glory. This only comes by knowing Him in us and us in Him in all things. We can partner with Him in all things and reign in life. - Revelation 3:20-22
Laodicea – means just people
The Amen, Faithful, True Witness, Beginning of creation of God
Lukewarm – not hot or cold
You say I am rich
You are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked – an unqualified condition for ministry
Buy gold refined in fire – faith – God is great – The identity of Christ
Buy white garments – hope – God is good – the testimony of Christ
Buy eye salve – love – His mercy endures forever –
Purpose – see what He sees the way He sees it
He loves us as sons – chasten and rebuke
Be zealous
He stands at the door and knocks
Open the door
He comes in to us and dines with us
Sit on His Christ’s throne as Jesus sits on the Father’s throne
A partnership with Jesus in Christ – the power of prayer – a face-to-face relationship with God
