Welcome!

Welcome to 0600 Men’s Rally!
Let me tell you why I’m here:
Get men excited about being men. (It's good to be a man).
Get men excited about following the ultimate man.
Equip men with biblical tools to become better men.
Build a tribe of God-fearing men who can:
(1) Keep one another accoutable to living righteous and meaningful lives
(2) Cast a compelling vision of manhood to a broken culture
(3) Provide affirmation for the upcoming generation of men.
Genesis 4:1–7 NIV84
Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, “With the help of the Lord I have brought forth a man.” Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.”
God is not the source of temptation… (he is the source of freedom)
James 1:14–15 ESV
But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

Five Ways to Fight Sin

JD Greear

(1) Humble Confession

James 5:16 ESV
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

(2) Total Surrender

(don’t do the bare minimum)

(3) Reassurance in the Gospel

The gospel frees us to stop sinning
Galatians 5:1 ESV
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

(4) Memorize Specific Scripture

Galatians 2:20 ESV
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Hebrews 4:15–16 ESV
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Proverbs 20:13 ESV
Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread.

(5) Pursue Wisdom
