(Intro) taken from Deu33, Moses went up on Mt. Nebo and after hearing from the Lord the reminder of the Abrahamic Covenant, Moses died. So there is change that was coming. The first change was Joshua was now filled with the spirit of wisdom and the people were going to be looking to him now.

1 Now it came about after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ servant, saying, 2 “Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel. 3 “Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses. 4 “From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory. 5 “No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you. 6 “Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 “Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go. 8 “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. 9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

God is with you always ( ref: Jos1:9)
For in God’s presence is the fullness of Joy (ref: Ps16:11)

God’s presence, don’t leave home without it, Moses wouldn’t (Exo33:14-15)
14 And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.” 15 Then he said to Him, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here.
(Transition) - - - knowing God is with you, more than knowing, but truly believing will be great encouragement.
God’s power given and alive in us!
God’s power given, gave the land (ref:Jos1:3-5)
God’s power gives us strength (2Sam22:33)
(Ref) 2 Samuel 22:33 “33 “God is my strong fortress; And He sets the blameless in His way.”
God’s power is our strength (Hab3:19; Ps59:9, 17)
(Ref) Habakkuk 3:19 “19 The Lord God is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, And makes me walk on my high places. For the choir director, on my stringed instruments.”
9 Because of his strength I will watch for You, For God is my stronghold.

17 O my strength, I will sing praises to You; For God is my stronghold, the God who shows me lovingkindness.
God’s power strengthens our heart (Ps73:26)
Psalm 73:26 “26 My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
God’s power in our weakness (ref: 2Cor12:9) for it is our strength and our defence (Isa12:2)
2 “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the Lord God is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.”
(Transition) - God’s power, God’s strength given and when we know, believe we can surely be encouraged by that!
God promises through His word and does not break His promises
God promises Joshua through His word (ref: Jos1:6-8)
You are promised to be blessed by it, know it, keep it, receive it (Ps119:1-8)
Psalm 119:1–8 “1 How blessed are those whose way is blameless, Who walk in the law of the Lord. 2 How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all their heart. 3 They also do no unrighteousness; They walk in His ways. 4 You have ordained Your precepts, That we should keep them diligently. 5 Oh that my ways may be established To keep Your statutes! 6 Then I shall not be ashamed When I look upon all Your commandments. 7 I shall give thanks to You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments. 8 I shall keep Your statutes; Do not forsake me utterly!”
His word can keep you your way pure (Ps119:9-16)
Psalm 119:9–16 “9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. 10 With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments. 11 Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You. 12 Blessed are You, O Lord; Teach me Your statutes. 13 With my lips I have told of All the ordinances of Your mouth. 14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches. 15 I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways. 16 I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your word.”
His word revives (Ps119:25-32)
Psalm 119:25–32 “25 My soul cleaves to the dust; Revive me according to Your word. 26 I have told of my ways, and You have answered me; Teach me Your statutes. 27 Make me understand the way of Your precepts, So I will meditate on Your wonders. 28 My soul weeps because of grief; Strengthen me according to Your word. 29 Remove the false way from me, And graciously grant me Your law. 30 I have chosen the faithful way; I have placed Your ordinances before me. 31 I cling to Your testimonies; O Lord, do not put me to shame! 32 I shall run the way of Your commandments, For You will enlarge my heart.”
It brings faith (ref: Rom10:17)
It brings salvation (Ps119:41-48)
Psalm 119:41–48 “41 May Your lovingkindnesses also come to me, O Lord, Your salvation according to Your word; 42 So I will have an answer for him who reproaches me, For I trust in Your word. 43 And do not take the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, For I wait for Your ordinances. 44 So I will keep Your law continually, Forever and ever. 45 And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Your precepts. 46 I will also speak of Your testimonies before kings And shall not be ashamed. 47 I shall delight in Your commandments, Which I love. 48 And I shall lift up my hands to Your commandments, Which I love; And I will meditate on Your statutes.”

It brings assurance (Jn20:31; 1Jn5:13; Tit1:3-7)

Be Encouraged by God
God has a purpose even when we don’t understand God’s purpose in us
God has given you His presence
God has given you His promises through His word
God gives you direction and assurance
