Journeys are important.

Sometimes we need reminded the journey is just as important as the destination.

Advent is a journey of expecting God to show up in our world.

This is part of the purpose we find ourselves in. If we are not careful we can quickly just appear at Christmas, the same with Easter, and not prepare ourselves for what Jesus is doing.

The Magi remind us of how to travel.

How do you like to travel.

God provides for the journey.

Throughout these words in Matthew we see that God is in control and providing for the journey.

It is not how we start that matters as much as how we finish.

The magi could have given up when Jerusalem was not the destination.

Be open to “new” information.

Stay curious! Don’t settle for what you think is always going to be.

Express joy when God shows up.

I love verse 10
Matthew 2:10 CSB
When they saw the star, they were overwhelmed with joy.

Experience the joy of Christ.

I could have just said, experience Joy and that would be great. But it would also miss the point.

Express joy in giving.

Joy cannot just be kept to ourselves we must respond.
