Joy: the praise filled assurance that God is in control and working out everything for our good and His glory.

Joy, cha’ra: To rejoice or be glad.
Joy, like the other attributes of advent of hope, peace, and love are only as certain as their source.
True joy is found where few look for it.
, Joy to the World? With all that is going on? Let’s look at why we can have certain, consistent, conquering, and contagious joy.
I. The certainty and source of Joy
a. We have joy, not because the world brings it to us but because the Lord Jesus brought it to the world by coming Himself.
b. If your joy is found in Jesus and grounded in Jesus, it is a Joy that transcends all circumstances.
Jesus endured the cross for the joy that was set before Him!
Even though we must endure things in this world that attack our joy, our joy is still certain of it is found in Christ alone.
“If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist. If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist. But since our greatest need was forgiveness, God sent us a Savior.” Max Lucado
II. Consistent Joy
a. to have consistent joy we need a consistent walk and relationship with the Lord.
THE SUPERIORITY OF THIS JOY
John G. Butler, Sermon Starters, vol. 3 (Clinton, IA: LBC Publications, 2014), 15.b. to have consistent Joy, we need to know the Lord and know His Word.
c. Jesus came that our joy could be full, but we must be focused on Him to be accessing and walking in the joy He has provided.
It is like soap, it is available but only works when you apply it.
III. Conquering joy
a. Joy that conquers sorrow, fear, death, and worry.
There is nothing that can happen to a child of God that will make him love you less.
We are more than conquerors through Christ!
b. The Holy Spirit assures our Spiritual deliverance to our eternal destination with Jesus
IV. Contagious Joy
a. are you a contagious Christian?
b. certainty, consistency, and joy that conquers sorrow will be lead us to be contagious Christians.
Unfortunately, many of us let the cares of the world drown out the witness of our joy in Jesus.
Many times it is because we are consumed with worldly thing instead of Christ and we need to reset, refocus, and refresh our love in Christ and the Joy He brings.
No better time to do that than now.
