Gods word is A Sword - Two edges of the same sword or " Paradox " many many in Gods words thats why its a sword .
We need to be childlike in our faith believing in faith ..not letting adult things get in the way - and yet be mature in our faith, not feeding on milk but on solid food
.
It is evident that God speaks to us no matter how much of the bible we have read or even if we have not read the bible at all, at this point we can have childlike faith, but at the same time we need to feed and grow so that we will not be blown around like reeds listening to false doctrine, but be strong in our faith,
therein having the knowledge ( not be ignorant as some translations put it which can be the believers biggest enemy ) this knowledge of the word is our sword, being the sword, that we use
to defend and attack and God uses in us to cut through the motives and intentions of the heart in us. .
Too often however this sword is used to attack and it is forgotten the sword has a double edge and in the use of such a weapon the weapon can strike back at us
This double edged sword can give us the "childlike faith" cutting through the "adult " sensibilities of intellectual rhubarb and leaving us like children utterly dependent on "Dad"
At the same time compelling us to Himself thus drawing us to His word that gives us the Maturity of faith
1.BE LIKE CHILDREN - SIMPLE FAITH - BELIEVE AS A SOLDIER .
2. BE ADULT AND MATURE - STRONG IN FAITH
Also do not be surprised once you have used this faith that you are tested, with the increase of faith comes the increase of testing, with the increase of testing comes the increase of grace and ability to endure
Lets look into Cross references..
Matthew 10:37-38 (The Message)
34-37"Don't think I've come to make life cozy.
I've come to cut—make a sharp knife-cut between son and father, daughter and mother, bride and mother-in-law—cut through these cozy domestic arrangements and free you for God.
Well-meaning family
members can be your worst enemies.
If you prefer father or mother over me, you don't deserve me.
If you prefer son or daughter over me, you don't deserve me.
Can we put our hands to the plough and look back ?
Can we first say " let me go back "?
Can we become a pillar of salt ?
Who do I put first ?
Who is my first love ?
Mark 8:34 (The Message)
34-37Calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, "Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead.
You're not in the driver's seat; I am.
Don't run from suffering; embrace it.
Follow me and I'll show you how.
Self-help is no help at all.Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to saving yourself, your true self.
What good would
it do to get everything you want and lose you, the real you?
What could you ever trade your soul for?
Read this and hear
1 Kings 17:9-24 (New International Version)
9 "Go at once to Zarephath of Sidon and stay there.
I have commanded a widow in that place to supply you with food." 10 So he went to Zarephath.
When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks.
He called to her and asked, "Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?" 11 As she was going to get it, he called, "And bring me, please, a piece of bread."
12 "As surely as the LORD your God lives," she replied, "I don't have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug.
I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die."
13 Elijah said to her, "Don't be afraid.
Go home and do as you have said.
But first make a small cake of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son.
14 For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel,
says: 'The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD gives rain on the land.'
"
15 She went away and did as Elijah had told her.
So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family.
16 For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the LORD spoken by Elijah.
17 Some time later the son of the woman who owned the house became ill.
He grew worse and worse, and finally stopped breathing.
18 She said to Elijah, "What do you have against me, man of God? Did you come to remind me of my sin and kill my son?"
19 "Give me your son," Elijah replied.
He took him from her arms, carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his bed.
20 Then he cried out to the LORD, "O LORD my God, have you brought tragedy also upon this widow I am staying with,
by causing her son to die?" 21 Then he stretched himself out on the boy three times and cried to the LORD, "O LORD my God, let this boy's life return to him!"
22 The LORD heard Elijah's cry, and the boy's life returned to him, and he lived.
23 Elijah picked up the child and carried him down from the room into the house.
He gave him to his mother and said, "Look, your son is alive!"
24 Then the woman said to Elijah, "Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the LORD from your mouth is the truth."

How strange it seems for a person to act on what God tells them !!
How strange for anyone to say that God speaks to them !!
How strange for that person to give up all they have and pack up their bags and go and do what God says !!
How foolish to sacrifice all for a word spoken from the creator of the universe !!
But this is how it seems to some, its foolishness to the world,
Ha Ha he says God speaks to him lol

The Moses and Elijah and Elisha and Abraham of this generation are the people who hear Gods word and put it into practice, they are the ones who hear God speak...they listen, they seek, they get confirmation, they learn to listen to God and they then hear Him speak and they do what He says.
They put their lifes and families and homes and jobs to the side to do whatever God says
They do not listen to men or the world, but instead they listen to God..

There is power in prayer, we have the same Holy Spirit in us that Elijah had, the same Holy Spirit that Elisha had, the same Holy Spiit that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in us.
