The problem people don’t have with Christmas
In Abu Dabi, in the year 2010, the stood a tree worth 11 billion dollars. This tree sets in a palace in a country that will jail anyone for the practice of Christianity and execute any muslim who converts to Christianity
truth is they have no problem with the christmas story. Its the true meaning of christmas that they have a problem with
No problem with a young, struggling couple traveling to their home town to be registered .
We and they love the heartwarming story of the couple spending the night in the stable, a baby being born, the baby laying in the manger. The magi coming to bare gifts to the child.
Unbelievers this year will celebrate christmas holiday, drunkards, audulters, the sexual immoral , murders, will all celebrate the holiday. Why? Symbols that we associate with the story of Jesus are perfectly fine with those who would kill over the true meaning of christmas

Its why the baby is in the manger that they have the problem
The idea that God would humiliate himself by stepping off His throne and laying himself in a manger is unthinkable.
To say God lowered Himself, to be born of a woman, to the point of death, is just unthinkable and unacceptable.
The fact is His in the manger because of our sins.

Galatians 4:4–7 “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.”
This is the true meaning of Christmas. Not just the story of Jesus being born. Not just the most signifigant figure to ever be born. A man who split time, A.D. to B.C.

What was the fulness of time? There was an announcement made after the fall of man. There will be enmity between the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman. He would crush the head of the serpent and he would bruise his heal
Adam and Eve never got to witness this seed. They never saw the messiah
Abraham, Jacob and Isaac believed this saviour was coming and never seen him
Moses and the children get to see the law but not the messiah
Israel witnesses David and Soloman but not the messiah
The temple is built and the prophets came and prophesied but they didn’t get to see the messiah
Why because it was not the fulness of time.
Christ came at the scheduled time. God sent forth His Son. This is where most have the problem. Why? Because we dont put up 11 mil dollar christmas trees in a muslim country, or have drunken christmas parties in honor of the Son of God. Thats only if your ignoring the true meaning.

In the beginning was the word, the word was with God and the Word was God
God sent God.
Christmas is about God stepping out of heaven into time, wrapping himself in flesh. The bible tells us the word became flesh and dwelt among men. That the meaning of christmas

The idea that God would be born from his creation has led many to believe that Christ was created. Its unthinkable that God could be born. The idea that he would not descend and enthrone Himself on earth to rule all
But God sent Jesus born of a woman. Formed in the womb, appeared on the scene as a baby
Born under the Law
Born under the Law
Although he was the giver of the Law. He was born subject to the Law on our behalf. Not only did Christ die for our sins but He lived a perfect righteous life on our behalf.
Born under the Law he kept it perfectly in His active obedience , so that He might impute that righteousness to us who are sinners .
To redeem those under the law

In his passive obedience being perfect had our sins imputed to Him so that He might pay the penalty for us not keeping the law He kept. So He could redeem those who are under the law and declare them righteous before God
This is the true meaning of Christmas
So they we may be sons

It would have been enough that we had been forgiven slaves but because of the baby in the manger and what He has done we are now called Sons and daughters of the most high.
Not only are we redeemed and adopted but we are also indwelt by the Spirit of God. The Spirit indwelling in you and I allows us to have communion and fellowship with the trinity.
We are Heirs
We are Heirs
We are redeemed, adopted, indwelt and heirs. Thats what we celebrate. Thats why God sent forth His Son
