After surviving a terrible auto accident, a 22 year-old Maryland woman says God gave her a second chance. Morgan Lake’s car was hit by a tractor trailer on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and the force of the collision pushed the car over the side of the bridge where it plunged into the water 40 feet below. Lake said God gave her the strength to stay alive after she watched the car explode with glass everywhere and the airbags hit her with full force. She said she felt like her body was getting filled up with water so she unbuckled her seat belt and swam through the broken window to the surface. She was able to reach a pile of rocks to wait for rescuers. She was flown to a nearby hospital with only minor injuries. Lake said, “I’m just blessed to be here, blessed to get a second chance at life.”—Jim L. Wilson and Jim Sandell
