A mining company in Belarus has introduced what they say in the largest dump truck in the world. The 27-foot-tall vehicle, known by the number 75710, is powered by two 65-liter 16-cylinder engines and puts out more torque than 17 large Ford pickups. The truck is so big that it must be delivered in pieces, and assembled on the job site. It has a two-axle steering mechanism, but still takes an area equal to half a football field to turn around. The eight wheeled vehicle weighs 750,000 pounds and can carry nearly one million pounds of rocks and dirt in the dump bed.—Jim L. Wilson and Jim Sandell
